Chapter 39 We have a long way to go
"Rosa..." Arcee, clutching her wounded waist, looked at her. Rosa remembered that if she wanted to stay safely at the Autobot base, she had to make a good impression on the Autobots; at least... she couldn't kill him now.
Arcee saw Rosa approaching Red Spider and thought she was...
"Rosa! No!" Arcee shouted.
Rosa simply said a few words next to the Red Spider audio receiver.
"We have a long road ahead of us."
The blue eyes glowed with a fluorescent light. The blue light, which should have represented the Autobots' compassion, calmness, and justice, emitted a feeling even more terrifying than the Decepticons' brutal and bloodthirsty red light.
The woman's soft, whispering voice sounded like the whispers of a demon.
She looked down at Starscream, her blue optical glasses fixed on him, then slowly rose and stepped back, seemingly somewhat displeased. But Starscream, seeing Rosa retreat, immediately scrambled away.
Red Spider cursed inwardly, "Crazy woman!"
But Arcee breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Rosa retreat.
Rosa watched the fleeing Red Spider and came to her senses, her expression returning to normal as she went back to Arcee's side.
It's alright, I'll kill you all next time when the Autobots aren't around. The Autobots won't lift a finger, but I will. As long as I can clear the obstacles, as long as I can end the war, as long as I can successfully research a way home using the resources available, I'll do anything—anything to get home.
We have a long future ahead of us—
Rosa helped Arcee sit down, and Arcee took out some simple treatment items from her subspace and gave them to Rosa to help with the bandaging.
“Rosa…” Arcee looked at Rosa, who was bandaging her wounds. She couldn't see any trace of Rosa's earlier frenzy; she was just a well-behaved child. A smile still played on her lips, like that of an innocent child.
"What's wrong?" Rosa looked at Arcee, who shook her head. "Nothing... Rosa..."
Arcee took a deep breath. "Promise me, when Optimus Prime comes back... go back and get some rest."
Rosa felt a little confused, but still nodded to Arcee.
After the emergency treatment was completed, Rosa and Arcee continued to wait for Optimus Prime to finish. They waited until Bumblebee came alone. When Bumblebee saw Arcee was injured, he quickly slid down the sand dune to check on her.
Optimus Prime and the bulkhead were frozen in place by the Stasis Staff. Fortunately, at the last moment, Bumblebee pretended to be frozen, successfully shattering the Stasis Staff and driving away Black Widow. Now, they need to contact an ambulance to open the land bridge and bring the people back, free from the ship's electromagnetic interference.
Rosa gave an OK sign and flew faster than Bumblebee, directly out of the interference range to contact an ambulance.
Once the land bridge was opened, Bumblebee was thinking about how to bring Optimus Prime and Bulkback back, while Rosa simply grabbed the back of Bulkback with both hands and carried it away.
"Excuse me." It was Rosa's voice.
The ambulance was planning to tow the tow truck to get Optimus Prime, but a 'flying' partition came out of the land bridge, with Rosa holding onto it from behind. It seemed they didn't need to push the truck anymore.
-
The first thing they did upon returning was for Rosa to use the tools to fully treat Arcee's injuries while Rosa went to repair the Stasis Cane to restore Optimus Prime and the bulkhead to normal.
"Sizzle—" The welding was complete, and Arcee's injury was fine. Rosa packed up her things. "Okay, everything's fine now."
Arcee, seeing Rosa about to walk away, grabbed Rosa's arm. "Wait!" Rosa turned back, puzzled.
"Go and rest after you've put everything away... okay?" There was a hint of worry in Arcee's eyes. Rosa looked at Arcee, nodded, and then prepared to go back to her room after putting away the tools.
-
"Although it looks serious, it's easily repairable," the ambulance said, turning around with the fully repaired stabilizing cane in hand.
"You can move now, and it won't be long before you're fully recovered." Optimus Prime and Bulkhead tried to move their bodies.
"What about Arcee?"
"The emergency bandaging was timely, so there's nothing serious, but..." Everyone looked at Arcee.
"The fastest healing agents are only physical wounds," Optimus Prime said as he approached.
“I thought I could forget the past after getting revenge… but…” Arcee hugged her arms. If Rosa hadn’t been there, she would definitely have had to fight Starscream while injured. Perhaps she should thank Rosa for helping her, but Rosa’s mental state was a bit…
Maybe she was under too much pressure from doing research recently...maybe.
Rosa slept soundly that night.
-
"Click...click..." Red Spider slammed into the rock with all his might, finally managing to knock off the thing that was locking his wings after countless crashes.
"Hiss..." The thing that was locking his wings had been knocked off, but Red Spider's hands were still trembling and in pain.
Rosa would inject small or large amounts of corrosive liquid while puncturing with a needle to increase the penetration rate. Fortunately, when she punctured the red spider's left palm, she used not much liquid, so it did not flow from her wrist into her arm to continue corroding the tissue.
These liquids glowed with a blue fluorescence, looking very much like super-energy entities, but they definitely weren't, Red Spider thought.
Even now, the large hole in his palm is still emitting faint blue fluorescence, probably from the residue of corrosive liquid. Moreover, these residues are still on his layers of tissue, hence the faint, thread-like appearance.
While it at least prevents the energy from flowing erratically, it's more complicated to handle, requiring at least one surgery to remove the melted and necrotic tissue.
Or simply switch hands
"I was so stupid, making such a terrible mistake, ouch..." The tissues were stuck together, and the pain was so intense that Red Spider could barely grip his left hand.
"But I have come to realize my place in the universe."
"Who am I? Red Spider!!"
Red Spider endured the pain in his left hand as it deformed, deciding he wouldn't join any faction for now. His left hand could still barely retract during the deformation; he needed to find water or something similar to wash away the corrosive liquid.
"I belong to no faction and I don't serve anyone!"
