Chapter 328 1 Step 1 Lotus
Chapter 328 1 Step 1 Lotus
Last time, we talked about Li Yi asking Guanyin Bodhisattva for help in curing Hei Er. So how will the story develop next? Let’s read on.
Li Yi watched the foreign monk leave, and only came out of the water after the Bodhisattva walked far away. His body was soaked white, but he could not care about all this now. He hurried to find Sister Weilin and finish what the Bodhisattva had asked him to do!
The two chatted while eating. Weilin asked, "You said that the person just now was the first-class Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva of Buddhism. It seems like you two are quite familiar with each other."
Li Yi replied: "According to the actual situation, today is the first time we meet, but we have communicated before by chance. What's wrong?"
Weilin sighed, "How powerful is the First Rank Buddha? You are clearly there, but I can't sense his presence. What's going on?"
Li Yi replied: "This is transcendence. Although I have now entered the transcendental realm, I am still far from the realm of Bodhisattva. As for how powerful it is, I have never felt it. But I have seen Empress Tai'an, who can kill me with just her eyes."
Weilin sighed, "Transcendent Realm, you said this is my destiny, but there are so many Buddhist rules and regulations, I definitely can't stand it! Rather than being a Transcendent Realm with restrictions everywhere, it's better to be a free and happy mortal."
Li Yi shook his head and smiled: "You, you have never experienced the real freedom, how can you possibly understand the freedom of the Bodhisattva." Weilin looked at Li Yi with curiosity. The latter meditated on the spot and guided Weilin to adjust his sitting posture.
Weilin asked, "What is this for?"
Li Yi smiled and said, "I'll take you to experience the real freedom." After that, Li Yi began to teach Weilin how to meditate, trying to guide her into a state of concentration and let her experience the Buddhist meditation. The two sat opposite each other, closed their eyes and began to meditate.
But at the beginning, Weilin couldn't calm her mind. Normally, she could purify her mind by chanting scriptures, but Weilin had never memorized the scriptures, so Li Yi raised his hand and condensed the energy to create a wooden fish, then he beat the wooden fish and sang the "Great Compassion Mantra" to help her calm her mind. After singing it several times, Weilin finally calmed down.
The meditation that Li Yi taught Weilin was the Six Wonderful Methods, namely counting, following, stopping, observing, returning and purifying. This is a method of adjusting breathing, controlling thoughts, synchronizing the body and mind with nature, thereby achieving selflessness, blending into heaven and earth and ultimately entering into a state of meditation.
Counting is to adjust the breathing frequency and stabilize the heart and qi. The heart and lungs are inherently connected, and through regulating the breathing, they can be made to fit perfectly together. This is the door to opening the heart.
Follow is to merge thoughts and breath, that is, after the door of the heart is opened, use the breath to send your consciousness into it. When the heart and breath are interdependent, you can realize the mind of Avalokitesvara, which is to enter the door of the heart.
To stop means to stop all distracting thoughts and free the mind from all constraints. This is very difficult to do, because you must know that the things that bind the mind the most are the seven emotions and six desires and worldly concepts.
As the saying goes, the mind is restless and unruly. Under normal circumstances, people are controlled by their thoughts. Once the thoughts are sent into the heart, the mind and the heart are in harmony. Once the reins are loosened and one lets go free, it is easy to go astray. But if one can overcome the difficulty and let the mind indulge and degenerate, then one can enter a state of selflessness, which is the first step to communicate with heaven and earth.
When Li Yi guided Weilin to this step, her lustful side as the reincarnation of a true dragon was exposed. Although she had just been practicing dual cultivation with Li Yi for a short time, she burst out with extremely strong desire and could not control it at all.
Even the Great Compassion Mantra was useless. In order to prevent her from going astray or developing demons in her heart, she had no choice but to stop meditating and calm her body and mind. Only then did Li Yi realize why the Bodhisattva asked him to persuade Weilin. To be honest, even the Japanese dared not film Weilin in her current state. Letting her imagination run wild was a complete indulgence for her!
After much effort, Li Yi finally controlled Weilin and suppressed her lust. Li Yi lay on the bed panting, not wanting to say a word. Instead, Weilin felt a little embarrassed and said, "Ah, I'm sorry for worrying you, brother."
Li Yi rolled his eyes at her and said, "It's not about your heart, but your waist! Sister Weilin, sitting in meditation is the basic skill of Buddhism. It is the most direct way to cultivate your mind, practice meditation, and attain enlightenment. If you can't even do it, then you really can't enter Buddhism. How about we study Taoism?"
Seeing that Li Yi looked tired, Weilin thought that she must not let the handsome boy's efforts go to waste, so she meditated herself and tried to enter a state of meditation again according to the six wonderful methods taught by Li Yi. However, Li Yi had fallen asleep at this time.
The effect of this attempt was remarkable. Weilin entered a state of selflessness and overcame the difficulty of "stopping". It can be seen that she had no other distracting thoughts except lust.
Observation means that after the mind and breath are adjusted and the internal balance is achieved, the internal and external are connected. It can be understood as originally observing one's own mind, but now one can observe the outside world. As the saying goes:
When you breathe in, observe yourself; when you breathe out, observe others; observe the agility of your mind and the vastness of heaven and earth.
At this stage, the whole body is transparent, the pores are open, and the mind is refreshed. This is the state of body breathing, and the internal and external breath are integrated into one.
After the body has merged with the world, there is a step to further integrate the mind and breath. To put it simply, it is the process of adjusting the mind and breath from the inside to the outside, returning the mind and breath to their innate origin, that is, returning to emptiness, that is, having a mind without observation, having a breath without observation, everything returns to the word emptiness. At this step, one is completely integrated into this world.
Purity, this purity is the pure original mind, which is actually the process of obtaining energy from heaven and earth. The ultimate goal of the static exercises of other sects is also this.
In order to gain strength from heaven and earth to strengthen oneself, Buddhists must purify their hearts first. This can be understood as cleaning up the house first and making more space, so that they can gain more energy from heaven and earth.
Weilin was able to successfully enter a state of meditation on just her second attempt, which showed her extraordinary talent. She wandered between heaven and earth, admiring the magnificent view of the snow-capped mountains at dawn in mid-air:
Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, the moon is almost full, the silver mirror is sinking to the west, the red crows are burning the clouds,
Snow peaks are like swords, piercing the sky with clouds, snow reflects red light, mountain fires linger,
The golden wheel suddenly rose and the rays of light appeared. Looking at the blue mountains again, the golden and stone changed.
Although this scene is not seen for the first time, the Buddha’s heart is close to it and he feels pity for it.
This spiritual journey after entering into a state of meditation is not really projecting one's consciousness into the world, but using one's inner mind to reflect the world outside. This spiritual journey is more like dreaming, but more real. Weilin flew into the clouds, enjoying this new experience.
Weilin, who was in the clouds, saw a figure walking in the mountains. When she got closer, she recognized that it was the foreign monk who had bathed in the hot spring with her during the day, the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. She wanted to tease the Bodhisattva, so she accelerated her flight and tried to fly through the foreign monk's body to see how he would react.
But the moment she touched the Bodhisattva, the foreign monk disappeared, replaced by a snow lotus bud that was about to bloom. With the sound of petals cracking, the bud expanded rapidly.
Weilin stepped back subconsciously, and this time he actually returned to the clouds. He looked again and found that the snow lotus buds had filled the valley! Petals opened and drooped, revealing the golden stamens. When the snow lotus fully opened, it reflected the Buddha's light.
Weilin closed her eyes subconsciously, and when she opened them again, she saw a thousand-foot-tall Great Compassionate Karma Dharmadhatu. The Dharmadhatu had a square face and a mustache, lowered eyebrows and squinted eyes, and a kind face. He wore a ninth-grade Vimalakirti hat and a golden robe, with his hands clasped in front of his chest. Behind him was a backlight composed of countless palms with wisdom eyes. The Dharmadhatu stood barefoot on a lotus platform, as tall as a snow-capped mountain!
Weilin asked, "Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, is this your true body? Why are you walking in this valley?"
The Great Compassionate Dharma Image of Karma said, "I came here to spread the Dharma, so I should be down-to-earth and spread the Dharma along the way. It is really a fate that I can meet you here. I will give you a word:
One step, one lotus; one meditation, one Guanyin; observe the mind and observe the self; cultivate the Buddha and cultivate one's own mind; save others before saving oneself; achieve Zen and then Zen enlightenment. The donor's mind is simple and kind; if he converts to Buddhism, he will surely achieve the right result. "As soon as the words fell, the Dharma image disappeared, and everything returned to peace.
Weilin looked at the mountains again. It seemed that the Bodhisattva had never stopped and had been moving in the valley all the time. But when he looked closer, he saw that with every step he took, a snow lotus flower bloomed and then melted!
Weilin shouted, "Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, I am willing to convert to Buddhism and become your disciple!"
But the foreign monk did not turn around, as if he did not hear her words. Weilin called out again, but the result was the same. She tried to catch up with the Bodhisattva, but no matter how hard she tried, she could not catch up with the Bodhisattva.
She finally gave up and returned to the clouds to look at the world in the distance. She wanted to see the outside world as far as her eyes could see. So she made up her mind to go out and follow the footsteps of Guanyin Bodhisattva to see the world outside Shaya Oasis!
After taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly, Weilin opened her eyes. Although she hadn't slept all night, she felt refreshed and energetic! She looked at Li Yi who was sleeping beside her and kicked him directly.
Li Yi screamed, "What's wrong? What's wrong? What's the big deal?"
Weilin smiled and said, "It's dawn, sister is calling you to get up!"
Li Yi was a person who was grumpy when he woke up, but seeing Weilin's smiling face, he couldn't get angry at all. He scratched his head, stretched and said, "I haven't slept enough yet. If you have something to do, just go first and don't worry about me." After that, he lay down, pulled up the animal skin blanket, and prepared to take a nap.
Weilin smiled and said, "I just entered a state of meditation, wandering between heaven and earth, and even saw the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, who spoke to me."
Li Yi replied half asleep, "Oh, I entered a state of meditation, so amazing. I also saw the Bodhisattva, which is even more amazing! Okay, Sister Weilin, you are really awesome! I really admire you. Is there anything else? Then I will continue to sleep!"
Weilin pulled Li Yi up and said unhappily, "I said I saw the Buddha and I even spoke! Didn't you hear me? Can you please give me some reaction?"
Li Yi said impatiently: "So what if you see him? Didn't you take a bath together yesterday? Didn't you also see the Bodhisattva's little brother? Compared with this, talking is nothing! Bodhisattva is also a human being, not a god! Don't make a fuss, okay? Don't disturb my sleep!"
You must have had a good time last night, but I was exhausted. Although you don't treat me as a human being, you can't let the horse run without letting it eat grass! You can't let the horse sleep! Okay, wait until I wake up before you talk to me!"
After saying that, the talented Li fell asleep. Weilin glared at Li Yi, then kicked him a few times. Seeing that Li Yi didn't react, she turned and left.
After Weilin went out, she wanted to find Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva to become his disciple. She would never forget the joy of wandering between heaven and earth when she entered into a state of meditation; she would never forget the magnificent and majestic Dharma of great compassion and cause and effect; she would never forget the wonderful sight of the Bodhisattva giving birth to a lotus with every step he took.
She blew a long whistle, and a golden eagle flew by. When it flew into the clouds again, Weilin was already on its back. Weilin looked for the Bodhisattva according to her memory, but when she really arrived at the snowy mountain, she didn't see a single person. She searched for a long time until noon, but still had no results. She had no choice but to return to the hot spring residence and seek help from Li Yi.
Li Dacaizi was awakened by the urge to urinate. He was applying fertilizer in the grove when he heard a splash behind him. He was startled and turned around to see that it was Weilin. He quickly pulled up his pants and said, "Sister, please be careful! I'm solving a personal problem here! Can you give me some privacy?"
Weilin said disapprovingly, "What is privacy? It's the thing in your crotch. What's the big deal? I've seen it and used it before! What's the big deal? Besides, it doesn't matter whether you wear these tattered pants or not."
Li Yi rolled his eyes at her, then looked at his torn pants, snorted coldly and walked towards the wooden house. Weilin followed him and said with a smile: "How about I help you find a new pair of pants?"
Li Yi taunted, "Are you so kind?"
Weilin blew a whistle and a blue light ball popped out from his right hand. The golden eagle flew over, swallowed the light ball in one gulp, and then disappeared.
