Chapter 199 Punishment from Earth (5)

Chapter 199 Punishment from Earth (5)

The Amazon River ranks second among the world's rivers. The Amazon River pours 11.6 cubic meters of water into the Atlantic Ocean every second. Its flow is about three times that of the Sai River, 3 times that of the Mississippi River, and 10 times that of the Nile River, accounting for 60% of the world's total river flow into the sea. With abundant water and surging water power, the fresh water at the river mouth rushes into the Atlantic Ocean for 20 kilometers. Among the tributaries, seven are over 160 kilometers long; the longest is the Madeira River, which is over 7 kilometers long.

The water volume is abundant all year round, with an average annual flow of 22 cubic meters per second at the river mouth and more than 28 cubic meters per second during flood season. It is the river with the largest drainage area and the largest water volume in the world. The upper source area is high in mountains and deep in valleys, with steep slopes and rapid currents, with an average gradient of about 5.2‰. The gradient is small after entering the plain.

The average flow rate in the middle and lower reaches is 0.7-1.7 m/s. The river is deep and wide. Most of the river depths in Brazil are over 45 m, and the depth near Manaus is as deep as 99 m. The river width in the lower reaches is 20-80 km, and the estuary is trumpet-shaped, 240 km wide, with shallow shoals and sandbanks. The tide can surge to Obidos, 960 km above the estuary. More than 5000 km of the main stream is navigable all year round, and ocean-going ships with a draft of 5-6 meters can go up 3 km from the estuary to Iquitos in Peru; the length of the navigable river in the entire water system is 700 km. The hydropower resources are also quite abundant, but have not yet been fully developed.

In this terrifying river, there is a terrible creature, the Amazon anaconda, which is the largest snake in the world today. It can be up to 6 meters long, weigh up to kilograms, and be as thick as the torso of an adult man; but the length of the anaconda is generally less than five and a half meters.

Anacondas love water and usually live on muddy banks or in shallow water. They prey on waterfowl, turtles, capybaras, tapirs, deer, voles, etc. They are called "deer-eating beasts" by local Indians. Sometimes they even eat caimans that are up to two and a half meters long. Anacondas will wrap the caiman tightly until it suffocates to death, then swallow it whole and do not need to eat for several weeks.

Although adult anacondas are extremely formidable predators, young anacondas are no longer than about 760 millimeters when they are born. Young anacondas are born alive, sometimes with up to 70 babies in one litter. Many young anacondas are eaten by caimans.

They are considered the heaviest snakes in the world. They like to live in swamps, shallow streams and still rivers, and are the most water-loving giant snakes. Anacondas are mostly active at night, but they can also be seen basking in the sun in broad daylight.

Anacondas always kill with force, not poison. There may be other kinds of snakes in the world that are as long as anacondas, but their size is simply incomparable.

Under the calm and slightly turbid surface of the Amazon River, a thrilling life-and-death struggle is hidden. A huge caiman cautiously approaches its prey, a wild sheep that is leisurely drinking water by the river. However, at this critical moment, the originally calm river surface suddenly stirs up a commotion, as if a mysterious and powerful force is surging under the water.

With a surging splash of water, a terrifying giant anaconda suddenly jumped out from the bottom of the water! It opened its bloody mouth that could swallow everything and swallowed the unsuspecting caiman in a swift and fierce manner. The poor wild sheep witnessed this horrific scene and was terrified. It was scared out of its wits and fled desperately.

After the wild goat ran hundreds of meters in one breath, it stopped and looked around, still in fear, trying to figure out what kind of monster could swallow such a huge caiman so easily. But before it could come to its senses, the anaconda's flexible and powerful tail, like a steel whip, had quietly swept over, tightly wrapped around the wild goat's body, and effortlessly dragged it into the icy river.

It really is true that "curiosity kills the cat"! The wild sheep can only end their short lives in endless regret and fear... The Titanoboa Apophis, the king of the Amazon River and the former ruler of the earth, has reappeared on earth!

In the vast German national forest, a thrilling battle is taking place. A majestic male lion and a nimble lioness are fighting a desperate battle with a group of ferocious and cunning jackals.

The lions, with their powerful strength and superb hunting skills, once took the initiative on the battlefield. Their sharp claws and sharp teeth made the jackals dare not approach easily, but the jackals were not to be outdone and continued to attack the lions relying on their advantage in numbers.

The two sides fought back and forth, neither side giving in. Every clash was filled with blood and danger, as if the entire forest was being dragged into this tragic fight.

Although the lions were much more powerful than the jackals, they gradually felt overwhelmed by the endless stream of enemies. The jackals, however, used their group fighting style to cleverly distract the lions and look for opportunities to deliver a fatal blow.

In this thrilling, life-and-death contest, the scales of victory seemed to gradually tilt towards the ferocious and cunning jackals. These wolves cooperated well and were well organized, just like a well-trained army.

One of the jackals acted as bait, deliberately provoking the lion to pay attention, while the others quietly ambushed around, waiting for an opportunity to launch a surprise attack. Faced with such a cunning opponent, the lion was able to fight bravely at first, but as time went on, it gradually became powerless and began to passively take the beating.

Every time the jackal attacked, the lion was exhausted. Scars left by the jackal's bites could be seen all over its body. Blood kept pouring out, dyeing its golden fur red. The once majestic "king of beasts" now looked miserable. However, despite being in a desperate situation, the lion still did not give up the fight. The desire for life and the unyielding fighting spirit burned in its heart.

Gradually, the injuries became more serious, and the two lions were so weak that they could hardly move, and the fire of life seemed to be extinguished at any time. At this moment, the jackals began to stir, sniffing the bloody smell in the air, with greed and cruelty flashing in their eyes.

These cunning guys knew that now was the time to deal a fatal blow to the enemy! So, they gathered together silently, forming a tight encirclement, and approached the two dying lions step by step. Each jackal was tense, with muscles trembling slightly, obviously accumulating strength to launch this decisive attack.
