Chapter 190 Son of the Mountains and Forests
Chapter 190 Son of the Mountains and Forests
There was absolutely no trace of anyone else. Could it really be just this one child? A child becoming a bandit?
Kain found it unbelievable.
"Qiuqiu, what do you think we should have for breakfast today?" Agudo asked as she walked into the bushes.
"Mmmm."
"Ugh, bamboo again, but I can't bite into it, and it's all prickly."
"Ah, guh."
"Mushroom, that's a good idea. Let's go ask the little lizard in a bit."
Agudo and Qiuqiu were chatting.
"Hey, what are you doing following us?" Agudo asked warily as she turned around.
Kain had been following behind her the whole time, which puzzled Agudo.
"Want to have a meal together?" Cain held up the rabbit in his hand.
After observing her, he realized that this little girl was no ordinary person, and that he might be able to get out of the forest with her help.
"The little rabbit is so cute, I won't eat it!" Agudo shook her head.
"But so you wanted to go eat with me? Well, that depends on whether you're good enough." Then, Agudo's playful side emerged, and she smiled slyly:
"Qiuqiu, come on, let's shake him off!"
"Mmm!" Qiuqiu hugged Agudo in her arms, then curled up and rolled around.
"Alas, goodbye!" In the blink of an eye, they disappeared from sight.
"Come and catch me! If you catch me, I'll let you come with us..." Agudo's voice gradually faded away.
Cain couldn't help but chuckle; he really was just a child.
Somewhere in the forest.
A huge white ball rolled out of the woods.
"Operation to shake off the bad guys is a success, haha!" Agudo jumped down from Qiuqiu's arms, beaming with pride.
"Ah-gu," Qiuqiu responded.
"Little sister Agudo, I've caught up. Can we travel together now?"
"Huh?" Agudo was taken aback as she watched Cain walk out leisurely and calmly.
Qiuqiu reacted the same way as Agudo, both of them were stunned.
"You actually caught up with him?" Agudo circled around Cain and said in surprise:
"If it were anyone else, we would have left them far behind long ago."
“Alright, as a mountain dweller, I keep my word. You can come with us,” Agudo said, nodding her chin.
"Hmm." Cain nodded with a smile.
"By the way, big sister, what's your name?" Now that they had decided to be temporary companions, Agudo became much more outgoing.
“My name is Cain, and I’m a boy, so you should call me big brother.” Cain reached out to touch Agudo’s head, but she dodged him.
"No man is as beautiful as you, and you have such long, beautiful, jet-black hair. All the pretty older women I've ever seen have hair like that," Agudo exclaimed in surprise. Her clear, large eyes looked at Cain.
"Do you distinguish between men and women by their faces?" Cain said speechlessly.
"Isn't that right?" Agudo tilted her head.
"Never mind, eating is the most important thing now. Let's go eat." Cain hesitated for a moment, then said helplessly.
This little girl is so innocent and adorable. Cain is very curious about how she lives in these mountains.
"Oh right, let's go, follow me." Agudo waved her hand and walked ahead.
"Haha, over here, over here."
Agudo was very familiar with the mountains and forests. She darted happily among the trees, moving towards her target amidst the chaos, like a little elf. She would look at the soil one moment and the trees the next, as if everything was welcoming her, like a child of the mountains and forests.
Soon, the two people and the beast arrived at a lush bamboo forest.
"arrive."
"Mmm!" Qiuqiu was the first to rush out, rushing into the bamboo forest, breaking off a bamboo stalk at random, and lying on the ground to eat it.
"The little lizard said that this place has the most mushrooms and also a lot of bamboo shoots. Come on over."
Agudo looked around and found a few mushrooms in the shady spot hidden by bamboo. After examining their color, she swallowed them in one gulp.
"You're just going to eat it raw?" Cain asked in surprise.
"There's no water around to wash it, but you can still eat it after wiping it."
"Have you always lived like this?" Cain asked.
"Yeah, aside from sneaking into the city to grab some good food, I've eaten almost everything edible in the mountains. Mushrooms that aren't very brightly colored are fine, they're not poisonous. Aren't you going to eat them?"
Agudo struggled to pull out a bamboo shoot, peeled off the layers of outer skin to reveal the tender shoot flesh inside. Being able to fill her stomach made her very happy.
Cain looked at Agudo and remained silent.
poor child……
For the first time, he understood what a wild child was like.
"Don't eat like that anymore, raw food is easy to make your stomach upset." Cain snatched the mushrooms and bamboo shoots from Agudo's hands.
"What are you doing? My stomach will only hurt for a few days at most. I don't want to go hungry." Agudo jumped up, trying to take back the food, but she was too small and couldn't reach it at all.
“I have a way to make it even tastier,” Cain said with a smile.
"Even more delicious?" Agudo's eyes lit up.
"That's right, would you like to try even more delicious mushrooms and bamboo shoots?"
"Of course I do!"
"Then you need to do me a favor."
"No problem, just say the word."
"Please help me find some dried bamboo leaves and dead bamboo."
In order to taste even more delicious food than what Cain had mentioned, Agudo quickly found these.
Cain also broke off many thin bamboo branches, which were then adorned with mushrooms and bamboo shoots. Now everything was ready.
They found an open space and gathered the firewood together.
Cain donned his demonic gauntlets.
Clang!
Sparks flew from the friction of the armor, igniting the "dry tinder," and flames began to burn.
"Fire! It's fire!" Agudo exclaimed.
Cain placed the mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and cleaned rabbit on top to roast.
Agudo looked on curiously.
The aroma of burning food began to waft over, making Agudo's mouth water.
"Isn't it ready yet?" Agudo was getting a little impatient.
"Almost done, just wait until it's fully cooked."
"Give."
Agudo quickly took a bunch of mushrooms and took a bite.
"Ah, hot, hot, hot!"
"Don't rush, blow on it a few times."
"Whoosh..."
Under Cain's guidance, Agudo enjoyed eating roasted mushrooms and bamboo shoots, while Qiuqiu was taking a comfortable nap nearby.
"It's delicious! It tastes just like what I had in the city. Cain, you're amazing!"
For Agudo, who grew up in the mountains, she was isolated from people and knew very little. She only knew that having a full stomach was a happy thing, and being able to eat delicious food was a blissful thing.
Kain experienced her happiness for the first time, and she felt like she was dreaming.
"I'm so happy today!" Agudo said with a beaming smile.
"Sister Cain, you're such a good person." Agudo hugged Cain's arm affectionately.
This reminded Cain of Luna when she was little, how she also liked to be affectionate with him like this. He smiled helplessly and patted Agudo's head.
"Call me brother, Agudo."
