Chapter 238 Unfair
Chapter 238 Unfair
When they arrived at the company, Xiao Zheng, holding a coffee cup, walked to Jiang Man's workstation in a charming manner: "Hey, Mr. Chen just came by and asked you to go to his office."
Jiang Man frowned. What on earth could he want from her so early in the morning?
When she came to Chen Hao's office and saw Bai Xue there, she quietly raised her hand to greet her, and the latter responded with a smile.
"Mr. Chen, what do you want to talk to me about?"
Chen Hao raised his head, his gaze lingering on her for a moment, then moved away: "Come with me to the construction site."
Jiang Man hesitated for a moment, then looked up and said calmly, "Are you unwilling or don't like it?"
He was a little different today. Jiang Man was stunned for a moment, but quickly reacted: "I'll go get ready right away."
"No need to prepare anything, just go now."
"Now?"
Sitting in the car, Jiang Man still felt a little uncomfortable.
Perhaps feeling a little stuffy, she unbuttoned a button of her shirt.
Chen Hao accidentally saw this scene through the rearview mirror, and his throat felt a little dry.
"Ginger Full"
His sudden voice startled her and she immediately sat up straight: "Huh?"
"It's best not to do anything suggestive when you're alone with a man."
"Huh?" She was stunned, not understanding what he meant.
Following his seemingly casual gaze, she suddenly noticed that half of her chest was exposed, and she quickly buttoned it up: "Sorry."
When the two arrived at the construction site, the floor was already taking shape. Ever since Chen Hao took over, everything had been proceeding in an orderly manner, and even the people who had caused trouble had disappeared.
Jiang Man narrowed his eyes and looked at the busy construction site, and suddenly a feeling of bitterness welled up in his heart.
As if sensing her emotions, Chen Hao turned his head and asked, "What's wrong? Is it because it's too dusty here that you're feeling uncomfortable?"
Jiang Man shook his head: "No."
"What happened?"
"Just a little curious."
"What are you curious about?" Chen Hao crossed his arms and became interested.
"Why would a father use any means to deal with his own son?" She finished, a faint smile on her lips. "When you were admitted to the hospital, your father slapped Ah Heng without knowing the truth."
Jiang Man paused and looked at Chen Hao, only to see that Chen Hao's face had gradually darkened.
"At the time, I was still wondering why Ah Heng said that. Now I understand everything." She stared at Chen Hao. "That little thug was arranged by your father, right?"
Chen Hao was stunned, pursed his lips, and his jaw gradually tensed.
"Indeed." Jiang Man shook his head and smiled bitterly, "No wonder things calmed down as soon as you took over."
Chen Hao looked at her, pretending to be nonchalant. "If I say I didn't know about it beforehand, would you believe me?"
Jiang Man smiled slightly, "I believe it."
"Then why do you still say this?"
"I'm just curious."
"Are you really just curious?" Chen Hao lowered his head, a barely perceptible bitterness rising at the corner of his mouth.
"No." Jiang Man denied it flatly, "I just think it's unfair."
"But then I feel like there's nothing unfair about it." She took a deep breath, and the flying dust got into her mouth and nose, and she started coughing violently.
Chen Hao patted her back gently and said, "Actually, you just feel it's unfair."
"You always feel that your father owes him something, so you stand up for him." He said slowly, "But have you ever thought that from childhood to adulthood, I didn't even have a surname, and I've always been labeled the son of a mistress. You stand up for him? But he had a grandmother who loved him since he was a child, and what about me? I have nothing."
Chen Hao closed his eyes, the veins on his forehead throbbing faintly. "My mother tells me what I should do and what I should do, because that's how I should please my father, but I don't want any of that at all."
"Do you think I really care about these?" He smiled and slowly opened his eyes. A few traces of blood appeared in his eyes, making his eyes look weird and attractive. "I would rather not have these. Do you know what I really want?" He lowered his eyes, and there was one sentence that he never said. How much he envied his elder brother.
"Chen Hao."
"Sister-in-law, you don't have to stand up for my brother." He interrupted her, "I know what I should do, and I won't compete with my brother for these things."
"That was not what I meant."
"You can rest assured. After all, I only have this one brother."
"You know what I'm going to say? You keep jumping to conclusions?" Jiang Man frowned slightly, walked up to him, and patted his shoulder. "I think it's unfair because your father has never even looked at Ah Heng."
"And yet, Ah Heng worked tirelessly day and night just to gain a shred of his approval, working himself to the point of falling ill."
"I'm not at all interested in the internal struggles of your wealthy families." She smiled, and the atmosphere was no longer awkward. "However, Chen Hao, whatever you like, just pursue it according to your own wishes. What is yours will eventually be yours." After saying that, she walked towards where the workers gathered.
Chen Hao looked at her back, shook his head and smiled bitterly, "But it's you I want." He repeated this sentence in his heart, closed his eyes, and Jiang Man's brilliant smile appeared in his mind again.
After a round of inspection and finding no major problems, Chen Hao prepared to take Jiang Man away.
As soon as the two returned to the front of the car, Lu Jie jumped out in front of them.
"Who are you?" Jiang Man looked at her puzzledly.
Lu Jie smiled brightly at her, "We met yesterday."
"Oh, you are the little girl from yesterday."
"bingo!"
"Do you know each other?" Chen Hao glanced at Lu Jie and felt that this person was somewhat familiar.
"I guess we know each other." Jiang Man said with a smile.
Lu Jie looked at Chen Hao, then walked up to Jiang Man with a playful smile and patted her shoulder. "Your new boyfriend? Sure!"
Jiang Man rubbed her temples. How could this little girl be so familiar with her? She shook her head at her and said, "Just an ordinary friend."
"Is that so?" Lu Jie nodded and walked up to Chen Hao. "What about you? Are you interested in her?"
Chen Hao raised his eyebrows, "I'm more interested in you now."
"Oh?" She said softly, turning around and hooking her arms around his neck. "I also think I'm prettier than her."
Jiang Man coughed and hurried forward to separate the two. If the conversation yesterday was true, then this little girl and Ah Heng were half-siblings.
Although she and Chen Hao were just ordinary friends, it felt awkward no matter how she looked at it, so it would be better for them to separate as soon as possible.
"Didn't you say you were just ordinary friends? Why, are you jealous?" The little girl looked at her teasingly.
Jiang Man pursed his lips, not knowing how to explain.
Chen Hao crossed his arms over his chest, looking at Jiang Man who seemed to be hesitant to speak. He knew there must be something fishy going on.
