Chapter 158 Long time no see
Snape had actually received the news a long time ago that Lily would not come to participate in this competition because she had exams recently and had no time to concentrate on learning how to ride a Pegasus. However, he still came for two reasons. First, he knew that the Death Eaters were behind this competition and he wanted to get an introduction.
Snape wanted to gain power and needed a platform to demonstrate his abilities. Some of Riddle's views were in line with his ideas. He also wanted to be someone looked up to by others. If he could get a place in this competition, he would naturally show up in front of Riddle.
Furthermore, he figured out that Riddle might bring Peter with him. Ever since Riddle had provided Peter with a letter of recommendation to become an exchange student, Snape was very clear that he must have had some kind of deal with Riddle. He wanted to find out everything. If even someone like Peter could do it, then so could he.
At the same time, as Peter is still a friend, he really wants to remind him that it is better to stay away from the Dark Lord. He is not strong enough to fight against the Dark Lord and he will most likely die without a complete body.
So even though Snape hated flying, he still tried to muster up the courage to come. In fact, what Snape hated about flying was riding on a Quidditch broom, because it was difficult for him to control it as neatly as Lily. This was related to talent, but it was not necessary to control a beast.
Therefore, Snape overcame his fear of flying and, with his scheming, easily stood out among the candidates and began to look for Peter as soon as he arrived. He had too many things to tell him, and of course, about Lily and James.
Alayya climbed onto Snape's hood with great effort, and was immediately overwhelmed by the smell of hair oil inside. So she used all her strength to climb onto Snape's shoulders, and as expected, she was caught in Snape's hand.
"Peter?" For some reason, Snape only took a quick look at the hamster, saw its round body and innocent and stupid eyes, and he recognized that this hamster was the one he was looking for!
"Squeak? (How did you know?)" The little hamster was very surprised. Could it be that Snape had the ability to read minds? Then he wouldn't know that I had just cursed him in my heart~
Snape curled his lips and sneered, "No fool would admit his mistake~" He already knew his Animagus very well, otherwise he would always come to his room to see him in the middle of the night, how did he get in? (After James and the others played a prank on Snape, Alaia was always worried that she would turn into a hamster and secretly check on Snape in the middle of the night)
Of course, Alaia would occasionally take away his homework or potions, and more often she would leave two claw marks on his homework before disappearing. Later he thought that she was able to get into Snape's dormitory so easily because he had deliberately left a trap!
Therefore, it is obvious that Peter is an Animagus, and a hamster at that. Snape even laughed at this, but felt a little unwilling. Since even Peter succeeded, it meant that James and Sirius were also successful.
So Snape also began to train Animagus and achieved some success.
Now he had the hamster's head in his hands. He wanted to ask what he was doing here. He wanted to ask if he was planning to attack him. He also wanted to pinch her head and warn her, "This is too dangerous. Are you going to die?" If he didn't know that this hamster was his Animagus, he would have gone to see Merlin right away!
But not everyone likes this rat. Snape felt uneasy when he thought that Peter's life might be in danger. As soon as he arrived at the competition venue, he couldn't wait to come out to find her.
"Squeak, squeak~" Alayya understood Snape's worries. After all, the letters he wrote to her in the past days were good proof that he had regarded her as a friend. Alayya was somewhat moved and licked Snape's fingers with her tongue. Snape immediately reacted violently and withdrew his hand. Alayya almost fell off his shoulder.
Finally, behind a remote tent, Alayya turned back into human form and looked around very vigilantly, fearing that the crazy woman would suddenly appear. "Fortunately, fortunately..." She should have really left.
But Snape rolled his eyes and glared at her, feeling guilty. Why was she so embarrassed to talk to him? Was he worried that his friends would find out?
"If you don't want to see me, just say so!" Snape flicked his sleeves and spoke in a very standard London accent, which made Alaia feel both wronged and in a good mood. Snape's voice was really magnetic...
"No! Someone wants to harm me, you don't understand! By the way, stay away from Bellatrix in the future!" Alayya breathed a sigh of relief and pulled Snape's sleeve earnestly to warn him, which made Snape's facial features move.
"Who are you talking about? Who wants to hurt you... that Black?" Snape knew that senior girl. She was indeed famous. Even Snape, who was usually oblivious to the world outside, had heard of her. Snape had mixed feelings. Someone was targeting her so soon?
"Forget it, let's not talk about that crazy woman. Why are you here? Let me guess... It's for love, for Lily Evans, right?" Alaia's smirk made Snape's face even gloomier, even dripping with water, but the woman was still very comfortable expressing herself, "I was wondering why you suddenly changed your gender and wanted to learn how to fly..."
"Lily, didn't come..." Snape said this with gritted teeth, hoping to interrupt her "chatter". Although he really liked Lily, his life was not entirely for Lily. What's more, Lily had fallen in love with that hateful guy now, and his purpose of coming here was also somewhat related to Peter.
"She didn't come? That's surprising to me..." Alaia couldn't figure out why Snape came here. Did he want to join the Death Eaters now? Was he hinted by the Death Eaters?
Just when Alaia was about to approach Snape to see if he was lying, she heard the voice of the house-elf calling her name. It was the one Riddle had specially arranged for her and had been responsible for taking care of her daily life.
"I should go back now. See you next time. By the way, I know you may be reluctant, but if possible please write a letter to Newt and Sirius to tell them that I'm fine and not to worry. That would be great." Alaia said as she ran out, not giving Snape any chance to refuse.
Snape could only clench his fist and pound the tent beside him, "Damn it..." But seeing Peter so active and energetic, he seemed to feel a lot more at ease.
Finally, after much deliberation, Snape returned to the tent and wrote a letter to Newt to report his safety.
But what he didn't expect was that Newt was also on his way here, so James and the others still hadn't received the news.
