Chapter 478: The Battle for the Kitchen and the Preparation of Tacit Understanding!
Chapter 478: The Battle for the Kitchen and the Preparation of Tacit Understanding!
The automatic doors in the medical area snapped shut. The outside noise was completely cut off. Chopper moved between the treatment pods. The stethoscope on his antlers swayed back and forth.
"Vital signs are stable"
Chopper yelled into the communicator. His voice was hoarse.
The treatment pod was filled with the severely wounded members of the Whitebeard Pirates. The medical equipment beeped. Marco leaned against the pod door. The blue flames on his hands had died down. His eyes were bloodshot. He watched Chopper busy at work, a slight smirk playing on his lips.
"This kid is even more serious than the professionals."
In the center of the square. Pacifistas' tracks crushed the ground. A robotic arm extended. A metal dining table, dozens of meters long, was forcibly assembled. Screws tightened securely. A semi-transparent, windproof dome rose into the air, covering the entire square. The sea breeze and dust were kept out.
"This efficiency is ten times faster than my shipyard."
The shipwright of the Red-Haired Pirates gaped, not even noticing the wrench hitting his foot.
The burly men of the Whitebeard Pirates had been itching to get going. Jozu waved. Several hulking pirates hoisted two-meter-tall barrels of liquor onto their shoulders. Their shouts were deafening. They strode out of the warehouse.
The barrel slammed onto the metal table.
A muffled thud.
The wine glasses on the table all bounced up at once.
"Open the bucket"
The barrel lid was ripped off with brute force. Amber-colored liquor cascaded down like a waterfall. The aroma exploded. The pirates roared wildly, raising their glasses in a frenzy.
"Don't just focus on drinking, where's the meat?"
The Red-Haired Pirates' officers roared at the top of their lungs.
"The meat is on its way."
Before the words were even finished, a strange aroma wafted from the direction of the makeshift kitchen. It was a mingled smell of burning and sizzling grease. The pirates receiving the drinks all looked up in unison, their nostrils twitching and their eyes gleaming.
Luffy, who was originally crouching by the table, suddenly shot out like a cannonball, leaving a trail of afterimages as he headed straight for the kitchen.
"Meat! It's meat! The biggest piece is mine!"
Three seconds later, the dark figure pierced the air.
"Bang"
Luffy flew backward at an even more terrifying speed, flipping eight times in mid-air before crashing into the dining table like a ball. Barrels of wine tumbled to the ground. The pirates scrambled to avoid him.
"Idiot! How many times have I told you? The kitchen is a restricted area; no unauthorized personnel allowed!"
Sanji roared in the kitchen. His voice was full of energy.
Luffy got up, half a broken barrel on his head. Not at all discouraged. He wiped the wine off his face with the back of his hand and grinned broadly.
"Sanji! Did you throw that frying pan just now? Your skills are getting better and better!"
"roll"
A roar erupted from the kitchen, followed by a cacophony of clattering pots and pans.
Usopp's jaw almost dropped to the ground.
"Luffy, are you alright?"
"It's nothing, it's nothing."
Luffy brushed the sawdust off his butt. He stared intently at the kitchen, drooling.
"That scent is different from what Sanji usually makes; it's much stronger! It must be something special."
Zoro leaned against a pillar, clutching his wine jar. He glanced sideways at the scene.
"Didn't you just eat three big plates of barbecue?"
"Those were the paddings from before."
Luffy was perfectly justified.
"Now is the official time."
You good-for-nothing!
Zoro tilted his head back and gulped down the wine.
The kitchen door was kicked open. Sanji walked out carrying a giant tray in one hand. A whole golden sea king's leg lay on it, the skin sizzling with oil. Two food delivery robots followed behind. The trays were piled high with perfectly cut steaks.
"A special steak for Miss Nami, please enjoy."
Sanji knelt on one knee. The tray was placed steadily in front of Nami. His eyes turned into hearts.
Nami was stunned. Then she smiled.
"Thank you, Sanji."
Sanji exhaled white smoke from his head. His body stiffened and twisted. He glided back to the kitchen using the moonwalk technique. ♡ (ŐωŐ人)
The kitchen door was smashed shut.
"This guy always does this."
Zoro grimaced.
Robin cut a piece of steak and put it in his mouth. He chewed it twice. His eyes lit up.
"Indeed, it's even better than what Sanji made before. The combination of spices is very unique."
"Of course it's specially made."
Sanji's voice squeezed out from under the door, tinged with smugness.
"That sea king was raised by Master Fu with special feed, so its meat was already exceptional. Add to that the rare Sichuan peppercorns and rock salt I found in Vegapunk's reserves, and my unique low-temperature slow-roasting technique..."
"Alright, alright, stop bragging and hurry up and bring out the rest of the meat."
Luffy slammed his fist on the table.
"Waiting"
Sanji roared back.
"Let the ladies finish eating first."
Luffy pouted, staring intently at the Sea King's thigh in front of Nami. A low, beast-like growl escaped his throat.
"That's so embarrassing!"
Usopp covers his face. (눈_눈)
Do I know him? No, I don't.
Nami sighed. She forked a large piece of meat and handed it over.
"Here you go, stop yelling there, it's embarrassing."
Luffy's eyes lit up. He lunged forward like a dog, biting into a piece of meat and chewing frantically.
"Waaaaah, Nami is the best!"
Luffy's mouth was dripping with oil.
Are you a dog?
Zoro slapped Luffy on the back of the head.
At the other end of the square, revolutionary cadres were busy as bees. Karas was controlling the Raven Squad, moving supply crates. A three-meter-high soundproof wall was erected between the wounded soldiers' area and the banquet area. The crates were sealed tightly.
"Don't make too much noise."
Callas lowered his voice.
"The wounded need rest."
"receive"
The cadres tread lightly.
Sabo finished inspecting the soundproofing. He turned and walked towards the banquet area, his gaze sweeping over the revelers.
"How's the situation outside?"
The dragon's voice came from behind.
"There is no sign that the navy is pursuing us."
Sabo turns his head.
"The Red-Haired Pirates' lookout has secured a high vantage point and has not detected anything unusual so far."
The dragon nodded.
"Stay vigilant. Im won't let this go."
"clear"
Sabo quickly left.
Vegapunk squeezed through the crowd. Edison followed behind, panting heavily. The old man was covered in sweat, but his eyes shone with an alarming light.
"Tatsuba-sama"
Vegapunk charged down from the platform, tilting his head back and roaring.
"Everything is ready! The defense system is fully activated."
Chen Ye stood on the edge of the platform, overlooking the entire scene. Pacifistas lined up around the plaza. Their mechanical eyes flashed blue light, forming a defensive line. Engineering robots moved through the crowd, rapidly clearing away debris and empty barrels.
The Red-Haired Pirates secured the outer perimeter. Beckman, a half-smoked cigar dangling from his lips, stood atop the highest tower, his binoculars scanning the sea. Shanks' crew were pinned down at their respective firing positions. They were all seasoned veterans.
Vegapunk led the way. Shanks, the white-bearded swordsman, ascended the platform. The metallic floor reflected light. The central holographic projection area lit up.
Let me demonstrate.
Vegapunk pulled out a transparent control panel. His fingers flew across the keyboard.
A pale blue light curtain rises into the air. A 3D model of Egherd takes shape. Medical area, banquet area, defense area, and core laboratory. All highlighted.
"If someone comes from the sea..."
The old man tapped the red dot on the screen.
"This is an automatic defense turret. Just press this..."
The red dot instantly switched to a glaring red triangle.
"This will create a network of fire support."
Vegapunk grinned.
"They can't handle the monsters. But any number of ordinary naval fleets that come will be wiped out."
The white-bearded man rubbed his stubble.
"That's interesting."
Shanks crossed his arms.
"Old man, are you showing off your strength?"
This is called being prepared for a rainy day.
Vegapunk put on a stern face.
"Today's victory was hard-won. We must never repeat it."
Edison, riding in jet shoes, crashed off the platform. He was holding a data tablet.
"Report"
Edison yelled at the top of his lungs.
"Enough alcohol for three thousand people to drink for three days and three nights! There are three sea kings and hundreds of sea monsters for meat! All first-aid supplies have been distributed! The defense system is switched to friendly mode. All robots on the island are at your command."
"very good"
Chen Ye spoke.
The sound of horns ripped through the night sky. Everyone turned around. Vista stood on a wooden table, holding up a giant horn.
"Let the feast begin!"
The square erupted in chaos. The pirates pounced on the tables like mad dogs. Some were tearing flesh apart and gnawing on it raw. Some were gulping down barrels of liquor. Some were dancing wildly on the tables.
Chen Ye surveyed the entire scene. The Whitebeard Pirates. The Red-Haired Pirates. The Revolutionary Army. Monsters who were once wary of each other. Now, they were fighting over meat at the same table. Shiba Inu was being melted by alcohol.
A sea breeze swept by. The aroma of charred roasted meat mingled with strong liquor, masking the stench of blood beneath the ruins.
Chen Ye shifted his gaze, staring at the sea surface, which was glowing red from the setting sun.
Is this what you wanted?
He spoke in a low voice.
"Build a haven on the ruins of the new world where people can lay down their weapons."
No one responded.
Only the waves crashed against the rocks, mingled with distant, maniacal laughter.
