Chapter 33 The Illusion of the Future
Chapter 33 The Illusion of the Future
Two thuds sounded as the objects landed.
Bronya and Walter finally entered the Sea of Quanta at this moment.
Both of them felt a little dizzy when they landed.
The quantum sea is rejecting them.
However, it was because of the golden power emanating from them that they were able to enter so smoothly.
Otherwise, even the quantum shadows guarding the Quantum Sea passage would make it impossible for them to move an inch.
Only after their bodies had adapted were they able to look up and observe.
The entire space is in a void; there is no distinction between up, down, left, or right, and no so-called boundaries.
Here, the so-called laws of physics seem to be meaningless, as if time itself is distorted and slowed down.
Shattered phantoms surrounded them, and a feeling of insignificance welled up from the bottom of their hearts.
Walter frowned slightly and reached out to push up his glasses.
After arriving at the Sea of Quanta, the unease in his heart grew stronger and intensified with the passage of time.
He knew they didn't have much time left.
Moreover, Chen Feng is still waiting for them outside. Walter doesn't know how long he can hold out, but he knows that the energy required to open the Sea of Quanta is incalculable.
We need to speed things up.
Bronya.
Walter spoke, but his voice quickly dissipated in the space.
"We don't have much time left. Can you roughly sense Seele's location?"
When Walter spoke, Bronya did not answer immediately. She lowered her head and opened her palm, in which there was a very faint golden light.
This was left by Chen Feng before she came in.
This force is not large.
She took a deep breath, and when she opened her eyes again, her gaze became resolute.
"Bronya, give it a try."
As soon as she finished speaking, she closed her eyes and immersed her consciousness in that ray of light.
After Bronya's consciousness subsided, the golden light trembled slightly in her palm.
At that moment, Bronya felt a thread.
This thread traversed layers of space and barriers, resonating deep within the quantum sea.
That place is far away and vague.
But she really felt it.
The same power as Chen Feng.
That's Seele.
Bronya suddenly opened her eyes, a golden light flashing in them, and her gaze fell on a certain direction in the Sea of Quanta, pointing in that direction with absolute certainty.
"Found it! In this direction!"
Walter couldn't help but glance at Bronya again. He nodded silently, then took Bronya's arm and began to move towards the location she pointed to.
Walter pulled Bronya's arm and began to move in the direction she indicated.
Searching for a person in the ocean of quantum mechanics is even more hopeless than finding a needle in a haystack.
The resonance generated by the golden light in Bronya's hand was their only hope.
As the two ventured deeper, the surrounding shadowy figures began to change.
The shattered mirror images blurred and gradually coalesced into a series of illusions, with sounds, colors, and familiar faces appearing all around them.
Bronya knew that everything around her was an illusion, but she couldn't help looking at it anyway.
She saw the orphanage.
I saw Rosalia and Lilia, I saw Cocolia's mother, I saw Seele and myself.
But the next second, her perspective shifted to the person falling backward, who was smiling and continuing to push her on the stairs.
Bronya felt a dull ache in her calves.
Then the perspective shifts, and she is now kneeling on the ground, pounding on the experimental chamber. Inside the transparent chamber, Seele is gradually disappearing, along with her tearful smile.
"Seele...!"
"Bronya!"
Walter's voice struck her like a thunderclap, instantly bringing her back to her senses.
"Don't look, don't think, these are all illusions."
Bronya immediately bit her tongue hard.
The intense pain shattered her illusion, forcing her to look away and grit her teeth to keep moving forward.
She followed Walter's footsteps and continued forward.
But the illusion did not disappear; instead, it kept reappearing around her, and those piercing sounds repeatedly assaulted Bronya's mind.
The scenes of Seele disappearing into the experimental chamber kept replaying in my mind.
Seele's words, "Sister Bronya," kept echoing in her ears.
Bronya gritted her teeth, biting her tongue repeatedly, and continued forward.
Walter walked in front of Bronya, surrounded by images that played on a loop.
The death of her father, Joyce's dying wish, the despair of the second collapse...
He clenched his fists, but he didn't stop.
The scene here in Bronya subtly changes.
The scenes from the past disappeared, replaced by countless scenes she had never seen before.
She forced herself not to look; she still had to save Seele, she couldn't afford to collapse here.
But the sounds around her were ones she couldn't ignore.
"Enough! Stop it now!"
"You've always cared about Kiana, haven't you? I do too! But I can't just stand by and watch you go to your death!"
"You've done enough. At least trust me, trust us. You're exhausted. Don't continue..."
These words echoed in her ears again and again, making Bronya think as she walked.
Why do I have these memories?
Until a familiar cry rang out, her delicate body suddenly froze on the spot.
That cry...it's my own...
It was very painful and I felt desperate.
Why?
Why am I crying so desperately?
By this moment, Bronya's mind was filled with endless confusion and curiosity, but she still kept her eyes straight ahead, forcing herself not to look.
But the next second, that image suddenly crashed into her eyes.
A person was seen weeping while holding a corpse.
Who was that person? She couldn't see clearly.
Immediately afterwards, Mei and Kiana appeared, and only then did she realize with shock that the person who was holding the corpse and crying was herself.
Mei is crying, and Kiana is wiping away her tears.
This is not my memory.
Why can I see these things?
As Bronya looked on in confusion, Bronya, standing beside her, gazed at those familiar yet painful scenes. She slowly closed her eyes, a hint of pain showing between her brows.
She certainly remembers these scenes, and she will never forget them.
These are every second she doesn't want to recall now.
Bronya's fingers trembled slightly.
Even after so much time has passed, seeing those images again still makes it hard for her to calm down.
After a long while, she slowly opened her eyes, turned her head to look at the version of herself that hadn't yet experienced all of this. She wanted to reach out and pull her away, and then softly tell her not to look anymore.
But she couldn't do it.
These are all things she will experience in the future.
She can't escape it.
She slowly raised her head, her gaze seemingly piercing through layers of barriers to see Chen Feng struggling to maintain the passage outside the Sea of Quanta.
She took a deep breath, as if she wanted to swallow the entire scene around her and all her grievances.
Keep moving forward, don't look back...
She whispered these words to Bronya.
But Bronya didn't hear her; she just kept walking forward silently without looking back.
