He Shiyan suddenly reached out and grasped the hand that Su Jinyue was using to grab his collar, asking in a slightly deep voice, "Is the deposit you need enough?"

"Not enough!" Su Jinyue blurted out, her eyes burning with disbelief and joy.

She tentatively and cautiously reached out her other hand, wrapped it around He Shiyan's neck, and slowly kissed his slightly cool lips.

Su Jinyue closed her eyes. She could feel He Shiyan's gentle yet forceful response, as well as his warm yet strong hands that had somehow touched the back of her head and wrapped around her waist.

After the kiss ended, Su Jinyue nestled in He Shiyan's arms, panting. Her ear was pressed against He Shiyan's chest, and through the thin shirt, Su Jinyue could hear his regular but slightly fast heartbeat.

Although she appeared serious on the surface, wasn't He Shiyan also captivated by her? His heartbeat betrayed him, and Su Jinyue chuckled triumphantly.

He Shiyan nuzzled Su Jinyue's head with his chin and asked, "What are you laughing at?"

Su Jinyue shook her head in his arms and replied, "It's nothing."
