Chapter 27 Beyond the Gate of Light and a Strange New Realm
When everyone regained consciousness, they found themselves surrounded by a bright light. The dazzling light forced them to slowly open their eyes and struggle to adjust to the sudden brightness.
Huanmo was the first to regain his senses. He instinctively reached for his sword, only to find it empty. He then remembered that he had lost it in the whirlpool. His heart tightened. Without his sword, protecting Wanru in this unknown place would be even more difficult. He quickly looked around, taking in his new surroundings.
This place resembles a vast valley, surrounded by towering peaks capped with snow, shimmering brilliantly in the sunlight, like a dreamlike fairyland. The valley is lush with green grass and vibrant flowers, their various exotic blooms releasing a unique and enchanting fragrance. A crystal-clear stream flows gently, its waters crashing against the rocks, creating a crisp, melodious sound, as if playing a beautiful symphony.
However, this seemingly beautiful scene did not make Huanmo lower his guard. He knew that among the various mysterious places he had encountered along the way, the more beautiful the place, the greater the danger it often concealed. He turned to look at Wanru, the man in white, and Qingwan, who were still gradually waking up, and silently prayed that everyone would be safe and sound.
Wanru slowly woke up, rubbing her eyes, momentarily stunned by the beautiful scenery before her. But quickly, she remembered her earlier experience, and a sense of unease welled up inside her. She hurriedly looked for Huanmo, and seeing him looking at her with concern, her heart calmed down slightly. She stood up, walked to Huanmo's side, and whispered, "This place looks so beautiful, but I have a bad feeling about it. Let's be careful."
Huanmo nodded gently, took Wanru's hand, and said, "Yes, you're right. We can't let our guard down."
The man in white also regained consciousness. He held a jade flute, his eyes filled with vigilance. The beautiful scenery of the valley offered some solace, but his years of experience in the martial world told him he must not be deceived by appearances. He looked at Qingwan and asked, "Miss Qingwan, have you ever seen a place like this before? Is there any danger here that we need to know about?"
Qingwan stood up, clutching the spirit pearl tightly in her hand, her gaze sweeping across the valley. She frowned slightly and said, "I have never seen such a strange place before. However, the aura in this valley is somewhat unusual, as if it contains a mysterious power, but I cannot yet discern whether this power is benevolent or malevolent."
The white tiger shook its body to the side, its blue eyes curiously surveying its surroundings, occasionally lowering its head to sniff the strange flowers and plants, seemingly also full of curiosity about this new environment.
As the group cautiously explored the valley, a melodious birdsong suddenly filled the sky. Looking up, they saw a flock of brightly colored birds flying overhead, their feathers shimmering brilliantly in the sunlight, like colorful clouds on the horizon. After circling a few times, the birds flew deeper into the valley.
Huanmo's heart stirred, and he said, "These birds seem to be heading in a certain direction. Should we follow them and see if we can find any clues or a way out?"
Wanru hesitated, worried that following Fei Niao would lead to new dangers, but also felt that this might be an opportunity to explore. She looked at Huan Mo, then at the others, and said, "Well... alright then, but everyone be careful."
After everyone reached a consensus, they followed behind the bird and headed deeper into the valley.
As they ventured deeper, the scenery in the valley became increasingly extraordinary. Some enormous trees came into view, their trunks so thick that it would take several people to encircle them. The trees were laden with all sorts of fruits, some of which gleamed with an alluring sheen, as if beckoning them to be picked.
Wanru looked at the fruits, a sense of curiosity rising within her. She had never seen such peculiar fruits before and couldn't resist reaching out to touch them.
Seeing this, Huanmo quickly grabbed her hand and said, "Don't move around. We don't know if these fruits are poisonous. We should be careful."
Wanru nodded, inwardly blaming herself for her recklessness.
Continuing on, they came to a lake. The lake water was clear and emerald green, like a giant mirror, reflecting the surrounding mountains and sky. In the center of the lake was a small island, on which stood an ancient pavilion. The pavilion's architectural style was very unique, exuding an ancient and mysterious atmosphere.
The birds landed on the small island, as if it were their destination.
Huanmo looked at the island and said, "It seems there must be something special about that island. We need to find a way to get there and take a look."
The man in white looked around and noticed some simple rafts woven from vines by the lake, seemingly left behind by someone. He said, "Look over there, there are rafts. We can use them to row to the island."
With everyone working together, they dragged the raft to the lakeside, then carefully boarded it and rowed towards the island.
As she rowed, Wanru couldn't help but look down at the lake. In the clear water, she could see some strange creatures swimming around. Some of these creatures were huge, while others were small and delicate. They all had brilliant colors on their bodies, as if they were water spirits.
As they approached the island, a mysterious aura wafted over them. The group landed on the island and headed towards the ancient pavilion.
Just as I reached the pavilion, the door suddenly creaked open, revealing an old, worn-out atmosphere.
Huanmo walked cautiously ahead, with the others following closely behind. Upon entering the pavilion, they discovered a large stone platform in the center, covered with various mysterious symbols and patterns that seemed to tell an ancient and enigmatic story.
Wanru walked curiously closer to the stone platform, carefully examining the symbols and patterns. She was filled with doubt, wondering what they meant.
Just then, a soft light suddenly shone from the stone platform, enveloping Wanru. Wanru stared in surprise, feeling as if she were bound by an invisible force, unable to move.
Seeing this, Huanmo was extremely anxious. He hurriedly reached out to pull Wanru up, but was bounced back by the light. He shouted, "Wanru, are you alright?"
Wanru wanted to answer, but found herself unable to open her mouth. She could only convey her fear and worry to Huanmo with her eyes.
The man in white also stepped forward, attempting to use the power of the jade flute to dispel the light, but the power of the jade flute seemed to have no effect on the light.
Qingwan raised the spirit pearl, chanting incantations, attempting to cast a spell to save Wanru, but to no avail.
Just as everyone was extremely anxious and at a loss, the light on the stone platform suddenly became even stronger, and Wanru's figure gradually blurred, as if she was about to be completely swallowed by the light.
