Chapter 301 Confrontation of a Powerful Enemy, Solving the Mechanism
The enormous figure, shrouded in black mist, approached the group like a moving mountain. The air in the passage seemed to be distorted by its powerful aura, and the pungent odor grew stronger, mingling with the black mist and making everyone nauseous. Huanmo tightened his grip on his sword, his heart pounding uncontrollably. He silently warned himself, "Don't panic. The more critical the moment, the more calm you must remain."
A flicker of tension crossed Wanru's eyes, but she quickly composed herself and whispered, "This monster looks even more difficult to deal with than the last one. We must be careful." Ying nodded slightly, the sharp blade in his hand gleaming coldly. His body was taut, ready to attack at any moment. Yichen and the woman in white exchanged a glance and tacitly began to gather their magical power. Their hands trembled slightly, and fine beads of sweat appeared on their foreheads, clearly indicating that they too felt the pressure from this powerful enemy.
The guardian stood aside, his eyes keenly observing the monster's every move, his mind racing as he quickly devised a countermeasure: "This monster is shrouded in black mist; perhaps its weakness isn't on its surface. We need to find its Achilles' heel."
The monster finally drew near, letting out a deafening roar as black mist surged towards the group like waves. Huanmo shouted, "Everyone scatter!" The group quickly dodged in all directions, the black mist brushing past them, corroding the walls of the passage wherever it passed.
Shadow seized the opportunity, charging towards the monster like a black lightning bolt, his blade aimed straight for its leg. However, the monster's skin was incredibly tough; the blade only left a white mark on its leg before it could penetrate any further. The monster, in pain, angrily swung its massive claws at Shadow. Shadow reacted swiftly, dodging the attack with a side somersault, but the force of the claws still stung his cheek.
Seeing this, Wanru chanted incantations, and her sword instantly burst forth with a dazzling light as she thrust it towards the monster's eyes. Sensing the threat, the monster jerked its head, and Wanru's sword grazed its cheek. At the same moment, Yichen and the woman in white's spells struck the monster; however, the monster merely swayed, seemingly unharmed.
Huanmo was extremely anxious. He knew this couldn't go on; he had to find the monster's weakness. He looked around, trying to find inspiration in the environment. Suddenly, he noticed some crystal-like objects on the ceiling of the passage, shimmering faintly in the darkness. A thought struck him: "Could these crystals be related to the monster's weakness?"
Huanmo shouted, "Everyone, watch out for the crystals at the top of the passage! Try to attack them!" Hearing this, everyone looked up at the top of the passage. Yichen and the woman in white launched the first attack, their spells aimed at the crystals. However, the crystals were too far away, and the power of the spells weakened before reaching them, only causing the crystals to tremble slightly.
Ying and Wanru worked together. Ying drew the monster's attention while Wanru looked for an opportunity to get close to the passage wall, attempting to climb up and attack the crystal. The monster seemed to realize their intentions and attacked Ying even more frantically. Ying dodged left and right, but still suffered several cuts from the monster's claws.
Huanmo was frantic with worry. Seeing Ying injured, he felt a sharp pain in his heart. He took a deep breath, concentrated his mind, and poured all his strength into his sword before charging towards the monster. Huanmo's sword collided with the monster's body, producing a piercing sound. Huanmo seized the opportunity to plunge his sword into the monster's body, then forcefully thrust it forward. The monster, in pain, swayed slightly.
Just then, Wanru successfully climbed the wall. She swung her sword at the crystal, and a burst of sword energy struck it. The crystal shattered instantly with a crisp sound. The monster seemed greatly affected; it let out a painful roar, its body began to tremble violently, and the black mist thinned.
Seeing this, the group was overjoyed and intensified their attacks. Under their combined assault, the monster's body gradually dissipated, eventually turning into a wisp of black smoke and disappearing into the air.
After defeating the monster, everyone was exhausted and collapsed to the ground. Huanmo wiped the sweat from his face, secretly relieved: "Luckily, we found the monster's weakness, otherwise we would have been in real danger this time."
After resting for a while, everyone refocused their attention on the stone door before them. Huanmo walked up to the door and carefully examined the runes on it. He discovered that the runes seemed to form a complex array, and that the array had to be broken to open the door.
Yi Chen also came over. After studying the runes for a while, he said, "These runes look very ancient. They should be a kind of sealing formation. We need to find the correct order to activate the runes in order to open the stone door."
The group began searching around the stone gate for clues, trying to find a way to break the formation. However, after searching for a long time, they found no useful information. Just as everyone was feeling discouraged, Ling'er suddenly pointed to a corner below the stone gate and said, "Look, everyone, there are some strange patterns here."
The crowd gathered around, carefully examining the patterns. Huanmo noticed that these patterns seemed similar to some of the patterns they had seen earlier in the passage, and a thought struck him: "Could these patterns be the key to breaking the formation?"
He began trying to activate the runes on the stone door in the order of the patterns. When he activated the last rune, the stone door emitted a deep rumble and slowly opened.
As the stone door opened, an ancient and mysterious aura wafted out. Everyone was excited. Huanmo said, "It's finally open! I wonder if the second key is inside." They cautiously entered the stone door and found themselves in a spacious room. In the center of the room was a large stone platform, on which rested a box.
Huanmo and the others walked to the stone platform, and Huanmo reached out to open the box. Just then, beams of light suddenly lit up the room, and blurry figures appeared within the light. These figures exuded a powerful aura, surrounding the group.
Huanmo's heart tightened. He gripped his sword tightly, warily scanning the figures around him, wondering to himself, "What are these figures? Are they new obstacles? Can we still get the second key?"
A tense atmosphere filled the room once again, everyone on high alert, unsure of what challenges lay ahead...
