Chapter 511 Discovering the Contingency Plan
Chapter 511 Discovering the Contingency Plan
Before long, Lin Xiyue and the other two arrived downstairs.
The scene before Lin Xiyue shocked her: He Tao was covered in tears, holding Guai Guai tightly, while Guai Guai was whimpering in her arms, rubbing her head against He Tao as if seeking some comfort.
Lin Xiyue hurriedly stepped forward, squatted down, and carefully checked Guai Guai's condition.
She discovered that Guai Guai was convulsing violently, unable to grasp anything with her hands, and her fingers, which were originally twisted, were now tightly curled up like chicken claws.
Not only that, but white foam appeared at the corners of Guai Guai's mouth, making her look very critical and worrying.
Lin Xiyue frowned and carefully observed the creature. She did not find any obvious wounds on Guai Guai's body, which meant that it was not poisoned by any insect bite.
"Amo, come and take a look, what's wrong with it?"
So she quickly moved aside and turned to call out to Meros.
Although Moros was somewhat annoyed, feeling that his thoughts had been interrupted, he still quickly walked over when he saw how much pain Guai Guai was in, squatted down beside Lin Xiyue, and stared at Guai Guai.
"Hmm? This is interesting."
Meros had only glanced at it casually, but in that fleeting glance, he suddenly sensed something was amiss, and his curiosity was instantly piqued.
"What's wrong? Did you find something?"
Seeing the change in Molos's expression, Lin Xiyue quickly stepped forward and asked anxiously.
Meros didn't answer immediately, but instead extended a finger and carefully touched the little girl's forehead.
Guai Guai's previously restless body suddenly quieted down and became unusually calm, as if it had been frozen in place.
"This thing has something like an energy bomb implanted inside it, and the trigger for activating this bomb is a strong thought or emotional fluctuation generated by itself."
After doing all this, Meros slowly spoke.
Upon hearing this, Lin Xiyue's expression changed slightly. She realized that the problem might be more serious than she had imagined.
"Emotions? He Tao, what were you talking about before?"
So she immediately turned to look at He Tao and pressed for an answer.
He Tao had obviously heard what Mo Luosi said, and a hint of helplessness appeared on her face.
"What did we talk about? We talked about how it might not be able to live with us anymore, and then, and then it turned out like this."
She hesitated for a moment, but still answered honestly.
"Oh, so this is a dog."
Upon hearing this, Meros wore an indescribable expression and sighed.
His voice was slightly low, tinged with emotion, clearly reflecting his admiration for the dog's pure affection.
"That's right, that's what dogs are like. They treat you like their everything."
Lin Xiyue followed up on Molos's words with a sigh.
However, He Tao's words broke this atmosphere.
She sighed deeply, her voice filled with helplessness and sadness.
"Sigh—I know, I know everything. But there's nothing I can do. Even if my parents accept it, it can't live with us. The way it is now, the neighbors will be scared."
He Tao's voice trembled slightly, clearly indicating that this reality was causing her great pain.
"This is indeed a problem. But there's no rush. We can ask the Psionic Center later; they might have a solution."
Upon hearing He Tao's words, Lin Xiyue's lips curled up slightly, revealing a reassuring smile, and she spoke softly.
Her voice was soft and warm, like a spring breeze, making people feel incredibly comfortable and at ease.
He Tao's initial anxiety eased somewhat after hearing Lin Xiyue's words of comfort.
"That energy bomb you mentioned, is there any danger involved? It doesn't sound like a good thing. Could something bad happen?"
Having figured out what was going on, Lin Xiyue turned her gaze to Molos, a hint of worry in her eyes.
Meros raised his head and met Lin Xiyue's gaze; his eyes were deep and calm.
He remained silent for a moment, seemingly considering how to answer the question.
"That thing must be a test subject. Because where we're from, this kind of thing is usually used for assassination, not for internal use."
"Because it is highly concealed before it is activated, it is difficult to detect."
Meros's voice was deep and serious.
Lin Xiyue frowned slightly; she clearly had a deeper understanding of the danger of this energy bomb.
"Then, will anything happen to Guai Guai?"
He Tao couldn't help but interject, her voice filled with obvious concern.
After all, Guai Guai is not just her pet, but also her family member, and she doesn't want it to get hurt in any way.
"I've destroyed the emotional bomb inside it, so there shouldn't be any problems now."
Moros glanced at He Tao, then at Guai Guai, and only after confirming that there was nothing wrong with it did he speak slowly.
Although his words were simple, they finally put a huge weight off He Tao's heart.
"And what about the others?"
Lin Xiyue's voice was clear and urgent; she had clearly thought of something.
Her gaze was intense, fixed on Meros, as if trying to glean more information from his expression.
"As for the rest, I'm not really sure. However, I think the Psionic Center should have a way to investigate. You can tell them about this and let them handle it; that would be more appropriate."
Meros was clearly struck by Lin Xiyue's keen insight. He hesitated for a moment, then spoke slowly.
Melos sounded somewhat helpless. He hadn't originally wanted to get too involved in this matter, but Lin Xiyue's persistent questioning left him no choice but to ask.
Lin Xiyue nodded thoughtfully after hearing Molos's words.
"Then, shall I inform the people at the Psionic Center now?"
She paused for a moment, then asked.
Moros looked at Lin Xiyue, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. He nodded in agreement.
Upon seeing this, Lin Xiyue immediately took out her terminal and skillfully began operating it.
She quickly sent a message to Lingji, explaining in detail what Moros had just mentioned and He Tao and the others' concerns.
The time seemed to drag on endlessly while waiting for a reply.
Lin Xiyue kept glancing at the terminal screen, feeling somewhat anxious.
Finally, the terminal emitted a notification tone. She eagerly opened the message and saw that Lingji replied that he would investigate and had a solution. Lin Xiyue breathed a sigh of relief.
"He Tao, don't worry, they said they'll take care of it."
Lin Xiyue put down the terminal and turned to He Tao.
Her tone became much more relaxed, and a smile appeared on her face.
He Tao's tense nerves relaxed a little after hearing Lin Xiyue's words.
"Thank you, Xiyue."
She looked at Lin Xiyue gratefully and said.
