Transformers: Leader's Proof - Fragile, but Hard to Kill

Chapter 35 Quick Decryption, Kid

Chapter 35 Quick Decryption, Kid

Upon arriving at the original coordinates, she repeatedly confirmed that no one else was around before remotely activating the land bridge, leaving the shadowed area, and then deactivating and adjusting the land bridge back to the original route.

The panel in the base lobby suddenly lit up, followed by a flash of a solver symbol. Lines of code ran continuously, readjusting and resetting the vortex orbits. Once all the vortex orbits were restored to their original positions, the land bridge activation device began to operate automatically according to the code. "Whoosh—" The blue-green light activated precisely at 3:30.

Rosa stepped out of the land bridge, manually turned it off, and continued to hack into the land bridge panel, directly deleting all operation records. However, there were some things she couldn't change, such as the base's energy storage, which would decrease due to the land bridge being opened several times.

But the reason couldn't be found. After Rosa finished everything, she quietly left, leaving only the solver in the control system and hiding it.

Oh right, Rosa restored the lobby security camera footage when she left the lobby. Then she tiptoed back to her room, gently opened the door a crack, slipped inside, tidied herself up a bit, and went back to sleep.

I slept without any dreams.

The next day, Rosa got up at the same time as usual, went to the hall to collect supplies and showed her face before going back to catch up on sleep under the pretext of research.

The base detected an energy source signal. It's Bulkback's turn this time; everything should be fine, and they can contact base immediately if danger arises... as long as there aren't any disruptive signals like the one that happened with Black Widow...

Then, unsurprisingly, something went wrong. The reason, of course, was that the partition encountered a fire during this mission and failed to contact backup, resulting in it being knocked unconscious.

But strangely, the dead fire disappeared when it could have solved the partition problem.

When Rosa came out of her nap, this was the situation she saw.

"I don't remember clearly. When I woke up, the dead fire was gone. I only remember hearing the sound of a helicopter." The ambulance was still welding the wound on the partition's shoulder.

"It sounds like there's also Agent Fuller," the partition echoed, recalling what sounded like human voices.

“That’s not me,” Agent Fuller replied as he entered the base from the elevator. “But I know who it is. Where was Deadfire kidnapped?” Agent Fuller asked the Autobots around him, clinging to the railing. The others looked at the ambulance, and he slowly pulled up a map.

“This is where the partition was found.” Rosa leaned against the wall, listening to their conversation. The Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Russia, which Fuller said was in ruins after a volcanic eruption twenty years ago.

According to intelligence, the Jaeger team went there today, and Deadfire was most likely kidnapped by those humans. Everyone was laughing, but Optimus Prime ordered the Ratchet to open the land bridge; they were going to rescue Deadfire.

"What?!" the ambulance driver asked, puzzled.

"Optimus Prime, you're kidding, right?!" Arcee disagreed, as did the other Autobots. Deadfire was a Decepticon, the Autobots' archenemy. Why would they... go to save him?

“I know I shouldn’t say this, but I don’t think that no matter how Deadfire dies, it should be dismantled by the Mechanoids,” Rosa said. The other TFs and humans looked at her. “They wanted to use the nuclear power plant for their own purposes before, and now?”

Rosa chuckled. "If we get our hands on something that's beyond our current technological capabilities, who knows what those anarchists will do?"

“So,” Rosa straightened up, “to prevent future problems that would require TF to solve and increase our workload as well, this thing must be saved.”

"At least we can't let him fall into human hands?" Arcee followed suit, taking a step forward. "I'll go with you." Bumblebee chimed in.

“Megatron doesn’t seem like the type to put in the effort to save his comrades; Deadfire is someone only we can save,” Optimus Prime agreed, acknowledging that Deadfire needed to be rescued. Although his views differed from Rosa’s, thankfully everyone else was persuaded, except for the partition…

The Autobots were all ready, even Rosa was wearing armor, but the panel still seemed reluctant to go.

"Alright, partition! You have to go with me!" Meiqi spread her hands, trying to persuade me, "I won't go," but partition's attitude remained firm.

“Actually, we don’t necessarily have to live or die,” Rosa tapped her chin with one finger, tilting her head slightly to look at the partition. “As long as his body and Cybertronian technology don’t fall into their hands!” Rosa’s words were clearly a veiled threat to the partition; this was a good way to take advantage of someone’s vulnerability.

She was dressed in all-black armor and didn't open her mask to speak. Her face was completely covered, so her expression couldn't be seen, but her tone was probably that of a naive little girl. Yet, that naive tone uttered such...

This doesn't align with Optimus Prime's principles. The partition raised an eyebrow at Optimus Prime, knowing that Optimus Prime wouldn't agree.

“Rosa, that’s unethical. I’d rather stay at the base.” Bulkhead shook his head, a point Optimus Prime agreed with. Bulkhead’s personal grudge against Deadfire would cloud his judgment and jeopardize the mission. Besides, Rosa…

She really has a lot of crazy ideas. The ambulance driver sighed, packed his things, and left with Optimus Prime and the others. If it were a rescue of Deadfire, a doctor might be of great help.

"Autobots! Move out!" Optimus Prime waved, and all the Autobots entered the land bridge together.

Upon arriving at the target location, there were no humans around. However, the ambulance detected a faint Cybertronian signal nearby, which should not be detectable here. Therefore, there is only one possibility: Deadfire's superenergy has been exposed.

Later, on their way to the signal's location, Ratchet and Optimus Prime were still inside the cable trying to persuade Rosa that taking advantage of someone in distress was wrong, but Rosa chose to turn on the left and right audio receivers.

Huh? What do you mean? It goes in one ear and out the other, even though her audio receiver is usually on.

All the TFs remained vigilant throughout, especially protecting the less heavily armed ambulance in the middle. When they arrived at a large open area, they only saw a dried-up fountain in the center...

There was an optical mirror, or in human terms, an eyeball.

"It's the eye of a dead fire." The ambulance crouched down, looking at the eye with a solemn expression. As a doctor, he had seen many cruel scenes in the war, and many similar scenes.

But the other Autobots might not react the same way. Arcee gasped, wondering if the youngest, Bumblebee, would be frightened. Fortunately, Optimus Prime, as the leader, also frowned. Only Rosa had a look on her face that said, "Oh, it's just one eye. She really doesn't know anything." Of course, her expression was hidden by her mask, so the others couldn't see it.

She's done far more gruesome things than this; there's nothing shocking about it.

The ambulance picked up the eyeball and inserted it into the signal detector.

"What's going on?" Arcee asked appropriately.

"The visual receptors may still be holding the last recorded video." The ambulance tapped twice on the monitor, and as the eyeballs were activated, they saw the view from which the Deadfire eye had been removed.

"Technology makes the world a better place" is indeed useful, and Arcee is grateful for technology. But then, the mech team successfully connected to the ambulance's diagnostic equipment through Deadfire's eyes.

"Long time no see, Optimus Prime. It's great to see you again." It was Silas. Behind him was Deadfire being dismantled. This time, Rosa finally frowned. She recalled some unpleasant memories from her childhood.

Memories of my phone being dismembered after I was murdered.

"This is a two-way communication device," the ambulance driver explained to the others, implying that the other side could also see them.

"You must be Silas," Optimus Prime spoke first.

"It is—it is—it is me." The ambulance's diagnostic instrument suddenly flashed a solver symbol, and several lines of code quickly appeared. There was a momentary pause in both the sound and the image before it returned to normal.

When the Autobots saw this symbol, they all looked at Rosa.

The background noise from the "adult" detector faintly carried another voice: "We've been hacked and located. The firewall was breached instantly, and we can't stop it." Upon hearing this, Silas immediately looked towards the Autobots.

At this moment, all the Autobots were looking at Rosa... Sensing their gazes, Rosa casually gave out a coordinate.

...The surroundings remained silent.

"What's wrong... I... can't I hack it? Isn't this the way to find the destination directly?" Rosa looked at the Autobots around her in confusion. That's right, she hadn't hurt anyone, so why were they looking at her like that?

(The bald programmer from the mech special forces: You've hurt me!)

Silas's eyes twitched as he watched his firewall being breached by the 'aliens' in just two seconds.

Ah, the solver seems to be a human invention. Although it has gone out of control in another universe, it is still a human product, so strictly speaking, Rosa is not an alien.
