Chapter 188
Chapter 188
Under Raffarin's magical storm, the underground became bright, and the mages came down to look at her standing in front of the five golden-robed mages.
"Um...we...we've already reached an agreement with her, we support Alice!"
The blonde female mage shouted, "Nobody's a fool!" Raffaele Law was manipulating magic like a god descending to earth. The power of his magic was so strong that it caused a high concentration of crystals to condense in the underground space, turning the originally dark space into light.
"That's right...that's right, we support Alice..."
"Of course, of course."
Before long, the entire Secret Order overwhelmingly supported Alice. Although it was mainly because of Raffarin Law, there were still some protests. However, after Raffarin Law used magic to make him cough up blood out of thin air, the opposition became much smaller.
Alice soon saw the maid Rafis, who had been bandaged up and was being led out of a room, looking somewhat weak.
"Miss!"
"Oh, Rafis~"
The two embraced, and even though she was wrapped in bandages, Rafis held Alice tightly, looking her over and over, checking her body. Once she saw that Alice was alright, she felt relieved.
"Now......."
Alice patted Rafis's head, looked up and said, "It's all over now, Rafis, everything's under control... but we need you to go find Brett Carter."
Boom!
"Something rushed out from over there..."
Before she finished speaking, a scythe pierced through the rock, and then a white figure rushed towards Alice.
"Alice!"
"Oh dear, Mother!"
Alicia held Alice in her arms, raised her scythe and pointed it at the others, as if to swing the blood-red scythe. Alice saw this and quickly pressed Alicia's hand down.
"Alright, alright, Mother, we've got the situation under control now!"
After Alice finished speaking, Alicia put down her scythe, but still looked around warily.
Meanwhile, a purple-robed mage ran over, shouting, "Police! The police have broken in!"
Alice and Raffarin looked at each other, and the former shrugged.
It seems everyone has gathered together, Alice thought.
When Brett Carter walked in with a group of SWAT officers, he saw Alice, Alicia, and Raffarin and the others gathered together.
"Quickly! Protect the president!"
"Alright, alright! Sheriff, listen to me first. Since everyone's here, let's get down to business."
Alice had an idea, and immediately waved her hand to instruct everyone.
In Versailles, the conflict between criminals and police reached another climax, but both sides knew that the other was at its limit. The Duke listened to his subordinates' reports from his hideout.
"Your Grace... By the way, Alice is currently in the hands of the Secret Order. They want us to fulfill our promise before they will hand her over to us, but they haven't said that we can't do anything to Alice while she's with them, have they?"
“Isn’t there a camera now? If we did something to their president there… and then filmed it, it would undoubtedly demoralize the police, wouldn’t it? After all, they’ve already blocked the news; if such explosive news were to leak out now…”
"well said!"
The Duke then sent people to negotiate with the Magical Hermitage, and surprisingly, the Magical Hermitage agreed to their request.
“Very well, I will go there myself and tell the gentlemen that if anyone wants to experience the thrill of riding on our enemy, then come with me.”
The Duke was the first to be arrested. His men had been given permission to enter the underground world, and he, along with most of the nobles of the Halvin Gang, excitedly entered under the guidance of a purple-robed mage. Their personal guards were left outside the entrance. The Duke sensed something was amiss but didn't think much of it. Just as the Duke was about to enter the main hall, a joint task force of police and mages, specifically tasked with dealing with them, immediately approached.
When several guards from the joint operations team grabbed him in the corridor, the Duke panicked and shouted, "I'm here to see Alice, what are you doing?" while punching and kicking, desperately resisting. The guards of the special operations team were all highly skilled, and the Duke was quickly subdued by the team, his arms twisted as he was led into the hall.
In the hall, Brett Carter, who was waiting for him, read out the "arrest warrant." Before Brett could finish, the Duke suddenly roared, broke free from the guards' restraints, and lunged at President Alice, who was five or six meters away. The Duke had led troops and practiced martial arts; if he were to pounce and injure the President, it would be disastrous. Alice, a seasoned veteran, calmly and coldly observed the Duke's frenzied actions.
In that critical moment, the guards reacted swiftly, rushing forward to tackle the Duke, pinning him down and handcuffing him. During the capture of the Halvin gang members, the Duke was the only person subjected to binding magic. After his arrest, he was placed under the strictest surveillance.
After all the core members of the Harvin gang were arrested, Alice immediately announced the news to the whole country. Upon receiving the news, the remaining lower-level gang members quickly verified its authenticity, and the result shocked them—all of their superiors were gone and in jail.
With no leader, the lower-level gang members were quickly divided into several groups. Surprisingly, their first reaction was not to run away or put up a last-ditch resistance. The middle-level gang members had been in contact with the upper-level members and knew that their assets were there. In an instant, the internal fighting among the gangs was in full swing.
Versailles is in complete chaos!
Alice laughed, surrounded by a number of people: Raffarin Lowe, the five golden-robed mages, Alicia and Bright Carter. Whether they arrived first or last, they had indeed brought this farce to a victorious close.
To most people, the Versailles Rebellion was just a period of chaos, but after interrogating the criminals, Alice pieced together the words "coup" from their confessions.
Obviously, isn't it?
Alice thought to herself, but now, there's no need to worry about any of that.
She and Raffarin Lo sat in an office in Versailles, watching the sun rise. The journey of the new human race had only just begun.
