Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever

Chapter 300: You Really Are Our Daughter

Chapter 300: You Really Are Our Daughter

Tina Huxley didn’t stay long before leaving the studio.

Just as Summer Lowell had said, their relationship was just starting to thaw, making it indeed quite awkward to be around each other.

To thank Tina Huxley for the cake, Summer Lowell personally escorted her downstairs and watched her drive away.

After Tina Huxley’s car disappeared around the corner, Summer Lowell turned and entered the building, heading towards the elevator ahead.

She had only taken a few steps when someone called out to her.

Looking back, she saw a middle-aged couple, supporting each other as they walked towards her.

Summer Lowell looked at the approaching couple, observing their expressions, and a faint, unbelievable suspicion arose in her mind.

Could these two people be...

"Lana, is that you?"

Summer Lowell gently shook her head, her eyes puzzled as she stared at the couple, "You must have mistaken me for someone else. My name is Summer Lowell, not Lana. There’s security at the entrance. If you’re looking for someone, it’s best to ask them. Stopping random people in the lobby like this isn’t appropriate."

She finished speaking and turned, intending to leave again.

But the wife in the couple suddenly let go of her husband’s hand, rushed forward, and grabbed Summer Lowell’s wrist, "I know your name is Summer Lowell now, but didn’t your adoptive parents tell you that you once had a nickname, Lana?"

"No, they didn’t," Summer Lowell broke free, the woman’s grip was so strong it hurt her wrist, "I don’t understand what you’re saying. If you continue like this, I’ll have to call the police."

"Lana, I’m your mother, and this is your father. We’ve been looking for you for so many years. How could you have returned to the country without saying a word? Do you know how much we miss you?"

The woman claiming to be her mother raised her sleeve to wipe her face, tears streaming as she poured out the hardships of searching for her daughter over the years.

Summer Lowell was just held by this couple, one on each side, crying and laughing as they rambled on incessantly.

Summer Lowell didn’t even have a chance to interject, as people constantly passed by, occasionally casting curious glances.

This scene was utterly embarrassing.

"Alright, alright, can’t we talk somewhere else? There are people coming and going here, and staying here will disturb them."

Summer Lowell awkwardly led the couple out of the office building, finding a nearby café with high prices, and because it was very secluded, she settled them there and specifically requested a semi-private booth with a screen.

Once inside the booth, Summer Lowell couldn’t stand the scrutinizing looks from the couple opposite her, found an excuse, and quickly ran out, repeatedly assuring them she would be back.

After confirming that she was indeed far away, the middle-aged woman, who claimed to be her mother, slowly took out a wet wipe and gently wiped the corners of her eyes, "To think this little brat, after so many years, managed to do so well."

"Yes, better than we imagined, and her looks are indeed good; otherwise, how could she have gotten involved with the head of the Sinclair Family?"

The man’s deep, discontented voice spoke up, "Just as that psychic predicted, born with a seductive look, no good anywhere."

"Exactly, I’ve found out that she’s been stringing along two wealthy families here in Stellarion, even causing one to go bankrupt. Truly a temptress."

The woman angrily crumpled the wet wipe into a ball and threw it into the nearby trash can, "It’s all her fault. If she wasn’t so greedy, trying to play both wealthy families, we wouldn’t have had one of the sons target our son, Bang’er."

Talking about this matter fired up the couple.

Justin Huxley specifically set up a trap to get these two back from Rivenland, sending Summer Lowell’s biological brother to jail.

Her biological parents had to negotiate to get their son out.

Justin Huxley, as the mastermind, ordered the couple to return to the country and openly stated that his real target was Summer Lowell.

As long as they cooperated obediently, not only would their son be rescued, but they would also receive a generous reward to support their son and retire.

After all, their precious son was truly useless.

"Sigh, I wonder how Bang’er is doing in Rivenland now. We’re not there; he must be suffering a lot. It’s all this damn girl’s fault. We’ve discarded her for so many years, and she still causes us trouble!"

The woman gritted her teeth in anger.

The husband reached out and patted her on the shoulder, "Calm down, that damn girl should be back soon. We can’t let her see through us, or all would be lost."

Saying this, the couple exchanged a knowing glance.

Not long after, Summer Lowell returned, standing outside the screen, giving herself a pep talk before entering.

As soon as she came in, the woman stood up and personally pulled out a chair for her, "Why did you take so long? I thought you didn’t want to see us anymore."

"No, I ran into a friend outside and chatted a bit more, but I had no intention of leaving," Summer Lowell carefully avoided her, sitting down across a chair.

Mrs. Collins noticed her evasiveness, and a flash of displeasure crossed her eyes.

This damn girl, no wonder she could do such things, her conduct is truly questionable.

Even facing her biological parents, she’s so cold; discarding her back then was indeed the right choice.

After thinking for a moment, Summer Lowell asked Mrs. Collins and Mr. Collins, who were staring at her, "You claim to be my biological parents, but do you have any proof? You can’t just say it and expect me to believe it."

"Of course we have proof."

Mrs. Collins cursed her a few times in her heart, then took out a file from her bag, pulling out a large pile of documents related to Summer Lowell’s birth, "These are all about your birth. You can take a look. We’re not lying; you are indeed our biological daughter."

Summer Lowell wasn’t in the mood to look at these things now.

She carefully put the pile of documents into her bag, then raised her head to ask a question she had been thinking about for some time, "Can you tell me about how I ended up being adopted?"

Mrs. Collins, long prepared and not at all worried by this question, covered her eyes as she spoke, her voice choked with emotion, "It’s our fault, we were foolish, swayed by relatives around us, and pressured into giving you up. All these years we’ve regretted it but could never find you."

Saying this, the couple across the table began to sob, holding each other tightly.

Summer Lowell watched the couple crying, feeling troubled as she observed their expressions of pain, wondering how much of it was real and how much was fake.

Once Mr. Collins and Mrs. Collins finally stopped crying, Summer Lowell picked up her bag, ready to leave, "I’m sorry, this has all been too sudden. I need to verify this further. Let’s meet again later."
