Chapter 404 Holding Your Hand
Chapter 404 Holding Your Hand
"What monkey ball? Don't even mention that thing. I risked revealing my true power to save you... Do you think some tiny ball can trap me?"
"If you don't pay compensation, hand over the Bloodstone Egg!"
Lorraine pushed away Captain Terra's slender, fair hand and said seriously, "I'm serious, it's dangerous here. We have to find those who disappeared... They've probably all been killed... They're all dead, and the things and clues you need are gone!"
Terra looked around. The mine was brightly lit, and many of the miners' lamps were fueled by newly added solid fuel. Clearly, there were signs of human activity, yet in reality, the area was deserted...
Something is definitely not right.
“They’ve probably all crossed the sea to Atonement Island. We should hurry out and go to the island too.”
Terra thought about it and concluded that the target was Atonement Island.
Lorraine waved his hand, "No, even if it's on an island, it couldn't be the Redemption Island that you get there by boat!" Lorraine repeatedly knocked on the cave wall in front of him, covering the eerie faceless statue with a rag as he did so.
“There used to be hundreds of people here! Look at the dense footprints on the ground. They were all gathered here, but they all disappeared in an instant.”
......
"I already said we went to the island..."
Miss Terra was impatient and somewhat annoyed that Lorraine was in control.
“The island needs large ships. Said said there aren’t any large ships here. Large ships simply can’t get close; they wouldn’t have enough draft and would inevitably run aground. Small boats can only carry a few people at most. There are thousands of people here, plus horses!”
......
"Then they must have been on something else. Maybe a griffin, maybe an airship!"
"Impossible. Griffins are managed by specialized administrators and are the most important communication and transportation vehicles. Even if the griffins flew day and night, they wouldn't be able to transport thousands of people in time. The airships have long since returned to port. Why would Undercity's airships be transporting humans? I personally watched the dwarven gunboats withdraw... Even if they used gunboats, they couldn't carry a thousand people... Didn't you say it was very quiet nearby, and your dragonhawk scouts didn't hear any noise?"
......
Terra frowned. This guy is so slow!
"Stop keeping me in suspense. Come with me to find my people. Alice is injured and needs support. I need to send a signal to let the organization send someone..."
Who is Alice?
"My pastor sister!"
"Wait a minute, I know where they are. You'll see them soon..."
......
Amid Terra's anxious, dissatisfied, and confused gaze, Lorraine kicked aside the unfortunate, desiccated corpse kneeling before the statue and pulled out his long-unused Twilight Hammer. Using the same trick again, he slammed it down on the lower body of the Faceless One statue, producing a dull thud.
Lorraine and Terra simultaneously heard a strange creature groaning.
The groans did not cause any vibration or echo.
Lorraine and Terra exchanged a glance, confirming that they had both heard the eerie sound. After a silent, infrasound-like groan, nothing seemed to happen. However, the next second, the mine began to shake violently... and the werewolf servants around them staggered and fell.
Lorraine suddenly remembered the scene when the merman appeared.
With a downward glance, after the statue shattered, a pool of liquid appeared... a red blood pool... rapidly magnified, as if a blood bag had been crushed. After the small Faceless One statue shattered, a torrent of blood surged out, directly engulfing Lorraine and Terra.
Lorraine instinctively reached out and grabbed Terra's soft, white hand...
The two were swept into the pool of blood, and with a suction force, the blood directly flooded the jade mine...
The miner's lamp was swept away, and the entire mine shaft seemed to have sunk a large chunk.
Lorraine and Terra were already some distance from the actual mine entrance... A massive tremor also occurred near the actual mine entrance. Lorraine said Terra would see her teammates soon.
The injured blood elf priestess Alice had indeed recovered somewhat, and she escaped to the vicinity of the Jade Mine under the cover of blood elf blood knights, spellbreakers, and rangers.
But soon they discovered that there were scattered suits of armor and weapons all around them.
There were traditional blue and white armor exclusive to Stormwind, Alliance territory; pure white armor in the standard Lordaeron style; and even some simple leather armor and wooden shields...
There were also saddles, swords, and axes scattered here and there...
The banners bore the blue and white lions of Stormwind, the red emblem of Stromgarde, as well as unidentified symbols and the Scarlet Crusade's insignia... This was the scene the Sunreavers' four-man squad encountered upon arriving at the city.
Strangely, however, there was no blood in the wreckage on the ground.
Only partially intact bones remain...
The same was true of the horses; there were at least several hundred of them... and they stretched endlessly along the road leading to the jade mine, all the way to the makeshift fishing boat harbor...
The fishermen's huts that were once a common sight on the beach are now the same... and many skeletal remains float on the water, stretching all the way to the shore, the bones seemingly forming a floating bridge, welcoming someone to the distant, faintly visible islands...
The legendary island of atonement.
Lorraine said Terra would soon see her teammates because the four Sunreaker elites had been forced to flee to the Jade Mine. They had escaped the Bloodfang werewolf attack, their pursuers inexplicably stopped chasing them, and soon screamed as they were attacked by unknown creatures.
After they realized that the unknown creatures were an endless army of undead, they fought briefly before being forced to run towards the sea.
At first, the Blood Elf squad wanted to turn around...
But the tide of the undead seemed to possess intelligence, blocking any direction they tried to break through. They had no choice but to head towards the Jade Mine. The situation of Captain Terra and their guest, Lorraine, was unknown. According to the plan, if Captain Terra was safe, she would bring her guest to the seaside.
Fortunately, the Blood Knight withstood the pressure and led the wounded to the beach.
They originally wanted to go into the cave to take a look, but the cave entrance suddenly collapsed... accompanied by a spurt of blood, the entire team was forced to run to the seaside. As the Path of Bones formed, the berserk army that Lorraine had once awakened surrounded the seaside and blocked the team.
Seeing this, the Blood Knight had no choice but to grit his teeth and tread the path of bones laid out on the sea towards Atonement Island...
What about Lorraine and Terra?
Lorraine knew that smashing the Faceless One statue might create a pool of water or some kind of sealed entrance, but he never imagined it would be something like the Blood Abyss...
Moreover, the bleeding was enormous, like a giant sea of blood, and the suction from below was so strong that Lorraine and Terra couldn't even use spells.
A feeling of suffocation, powerlessness, dizziness, and a pulling force.
Lorraine could only try his best not to let go of Terra's little hand... He could only feel his wolf cubs, already being swept into the blood abyss like a string of candied hawthorns... His only choice, Lorraine, was probably to accompany the blood elf beauty Terra to the Blood Eye...
