Chapter 219: Really not like the usual Joshua
Chapter 219: Really not like the usual Joshua
It was not until Moriarty and Holmes arrived that Joshua finally stopped cursing, turned around, threw himself into Mrs. Hudson's arms, and burst into tears.
Holmes said he would successfully release Ivy, and all it took was this lawsuit, and asked Joshua to wait a moment.
Joshua and Mrs. Hudson did indeed wait only a moment, for in less than half an hour Holmes was thrown out by several strong soldiers.
He held a white curly wig in each hand and a red velvet bow tie in his mouth.
Moriarty followed closely behind, accompanied by two stern-faced royal soldiers. He seemed to be the only one who walked out of the court standing.
His face looked very bad and he rolled his eyes the moment he saw Holmes.
"What should I do? Ms. Bell is coming back today. She has prepared several bottles of potions and is waiting for Ivy to go to Johns Newspaper Office..."
"Student Ivy is just an ordinary girl. How can she endure the pain of imprisonment?"
Joshua choked up as he spoke, his eyes swollen like peaches.
"I now declare that Ivy Lee has committed a heinous crime, disrupted society, and is unforgivable - she is sentenced to death and her body must be sent back to her country!"
An angry and majestic voice came from the door, which was like a bolt from the blue to Joshua.
He shouted loudly, shook off Mrs. Hudson's obstruction, and rushed towards the court door as if he was risking his life.
The soldiers at the door raised their swords at him, and the sharp blades illuminated Joshua's flushed cheeks.
Fortunately, Moriarty on the side reacted quickly and moved his toes slightly to the side.
Joshua's eyes were already blurred by tears, and he tripped after taking a few steps forward.
He fell on the last step, groaned a few times and fainted.
"I shouldn't have let you take it home to raise it."
Moriarty frowned, polished his shiny brown leather shoes, and said to Holmes with disgust.
"Now, he has become as impulsive as you, without considering the consequences at all."
"James, this is not my fault. That kid is stupid and crazy. It's innate to him... Besides, I'm not impulsive. I do everything with a purpose."
Holmes retorted with a grin, lifting Joshua into Mrs. Hudson's arms.
He pinched his wrinkled suit pocket, took out a cigarette and lit it, his brown eyes narrowed into slits.
"Honestly, James, if Joshua and I fell into the water at the same time, who would you save?"
"Don't ask these useless questions. I just know that we have to rescue Ivy now." Moriarty frowned and stared at the door of the court.
"Okay, okay... It seems that you won't save either of us. You are only concerned about your little earl, right?" Holmes laughed dryly and took several deep puffs of his cigarette.
"I just can't bear to see Joshua unable to sleep all night... I have a plan and I need your help." Moriarty said coldly, his blue eyes becoming colder.
"I don't believe it. Joshua is not as important to you as I am to you... I just find it hard to understand why your little earl is so indecisive. He keeps thinking and thinking, and I really can't figure him out..."
"It has nothing to do with Count Vincent Waite, and he has nothing to do with you either... Are you coming to help or not?"
"What is the relationship between Ivy and Count Vincent Waite...ah!"
Joshua woke up at some point, but was knocked unconscious by Holmes the moment he opened his mouth.
"It's obvious, it's really related... James! James! Don't go! Look what this is..."
Moriarty turned his head irritably. Whether Ivy could be successfully rescued was deeply related to his future plans.
Ah! I was already annoyed when I was kicked out by the judge after saying nothing, but the culprit was still smiling and refusing to listen to any good words.
"I'm very busy. I have to prepare lessons tonight...oh..."
Holmes used the tip of his black leather shoe to pick up the wig on the ground. He had just pulled the wig off the judge's head.
Holmes's hands twisted the coarse hair into a wig, kneading and squeezing it as if it were a piece of soft pork.
"Have it!"
Holmes pulled at the layers of wig, picked out a brass key, and waved it proudly in front of Moriarty's eyes.
"With the key to the old bald man's office and the judge's seal, we can easily get into the cell."
Moriarty's expression eased a little. He took the key handed to him by Holmes, sighed deeply, and then threw the key into the flowers in the distance without hesitation.
"James! What are you doing! I worked so hard to get this!" Holmes screamed.
"In the face of Thomas's superpowers, no key is useful." Moriarty said, holding his forehead.
"You have a good relationship with Scotland Yard, so just borrow a few police uniforms."
"Oh, James... Is this my only purpose to lend you the police uniform? It's clear that from the very beginning, I had the idea of robbing the prison..."
"Our Mr. Holmes is really smart. Can you please carry Joshua back now and borrow a few police uniforms. We will go to the cell tonight. Finally, can you please take Ivy to Ms. Bell?"
"Of cause! Leave it to me! Hey! James, look at me, it's so easy... How come Joshua is so light? He is really a skinny guy..."
In short, Ivy was successfully rescued, but after learning the news, Joshua couldn't sleep until dawn.
For several days afterwards, Joshua stayed with Ivy in the ward.
The people from 221-B are wanted all over London, and it seems that this is their safest refuge.
"Joshua, drink this."
Ms. Bell touched Joshua's forehead and handed him a bottle of clear liquid.
Joshua stretched out his hand stiffly, took it skillfully and drank it all in one gulp, and immediately felt relaxed all over.
This was a potion Bell specially prepared for him. For two whole weeks, Joshua didn't have a good night's sleep or eat any food.
"Mr. Johnson made you a Manhattan sandwich, at least take a bite of the pastrami, okay?"
Bell touched Joshua's thin shoulders. His already small body was now just a pile of bones. Even through his thin shirt, he could see his hunched shoulder bones.
"Thank you, but I have no appetite."
Joshua replied weakly, his thin face rising and falling with his breathing, outlining the contours of his facial bones completely.
"My magic potion is not a panacea. The human body still needs to absorb nutrients from food to survive. Come, good boy, take a bite of the bread..."
"But the sight of food makes me sick."
"You are too tired. Take some sleeping pills and have a good sleep later, okay?"
"No!" Joshua shook his head slowly. "Student Ivy needs someone to take care of her. She will be lonely here alone."
"I'll arrange for someone to take care of her, and you can take a nap. How about just two hours of sleep?"
"No, what if Ivy suddenly wakes up? What if she suddenly vomits blood? What if she suddenly has a convulsion?"
"Don't worry, there won't be any of these problems. I've given her a comprehensive checkup, and all of her body functions are normal."
"But you didn't find out the reason for his coma, did you?"
"This……"
Bell was choked for a moment. Ivy's situation had never been seen before. Bell checked all the information at hand but could not find the specific reason.
She pursed her lips, stuffed the sandwich into Joshua's hand, and stood up to check on Ivy.
"I have little experience and my medical skills are not very good. Maybe that person has some way..." She muttered while flipping Ivy's eyelids.
"Who is that person?" Joshua threw the fragrant sandwich far away.
"A nasty fellow..." Bell quietly rolled his eyes, "He likes to tinker with some dark magic, which is an area I have never studied."
"Dark magic? Oh my god, has classmate Ivy been bewitched by dark magic? What is dark magic like? Will it harm the body? You also have Avada Kedavra... or something like that..."
"What strange things are you saying again... Dark magic and that person are not good things, anyway, anyway... Hey, you humans should stop interfering with our wizards' magic, you can't learn it anyway."
"Oh……"
