Chapter 230 Light in the Dark Forest

Chen Xian, Yaya and Xiaoshou stood at the entrance of the dark forest, and the scene before them seemed particularly eerie. The forest was filled with thick fog, and the branches were intertwined, almost blocking out all the light. But their hearts were full of determination, because they knew that only by passing these trials could they find their way home.

"Get ready, let's go in." Chen Xian said firmly. The three of them encouraged each other and then walked into the forest.

As they went deeper into the forest, the surrounding environment became darker and the air became colder. The branches and leaves of the trees almost completely blocked the sky, with only a few rays of light occasionally shining through the gaps. The little animal's ears kept moving, as if catching the subtle sounds in the forest.

Not long after they started walking, they suddenly heard a low roar coming from the front, echoing in the forest. Chen Xian immediately stopped and signaled everyone to keep quiet. "It sounds like there's some creature nearby."

Yaya clenched her fists nervously, but her expression remained firm. "We can do it, brother."

The little beast also became alert, and began to explore the way ahead, using its keen senses to detect the situation ahead. When they bypassed a dense bush, an open space appeared in front of them, and in the middle of the open space, a huge wolf-like creature was wandering.

This wolf-like creature was huge, with black fur and eyes that flashed a faint green light. It seemed to have discovered Chen Xian and the others, so it stopped and let out a low growl.

"This should be part of the trial." Chen Xian said, "We must pass it."

"What should we do?" Yaya asked.

Chen Xian thought for a moment and said, "We need to find its weakness. Little Beast, can you try to interfere with it with your sound waves?"

The little beast nodded and let out a high-frequency cry. The huge wolf-like creature seemed to be affected and its movements became slow. Chen Xian seized the opportunity and quickly stepped forward, trying to restrain it with the spirit sword. However, the creature's power was beyond imagination. It easily avoided Chen Xian's attack and counterattacked.

After a fierce battle, Chen Xian discovered that the creature seemed to be very sensitive to light. Whenever the flashing light on the spirit sword touched it, it would show obvious pain.

"Yaya, finding the Fountain of Light may be our key." Chen Xian said while defending.

Yaya nodded and began to look around for clues. Just then, she noticed a faint light shining through the treetops not far away and projected onto the ground. "Brother, there!"

Chen Xian looked in the direction she pointed, and indeed saw a glimmer of light. "It seems that is the Fountain of Light we are looking for."

They decided to divide the work. Chen Xian continued to contain the wolf-shaped creature, while Yaya led the little beast to the location of the light. After a difficult trek, Yaya finally came to the source of the light. There was a clear little pond, and in the middle of the pond there was a glowing stone, with a soft light emanating from the stone.

"Found it!" Yaya shouted excitedly.

When Chen Xian heard the sound, he immediately used his spirit sword to force the wolf-like creature back, and then quickly rushed over. "Quick, take out that stone!"

Yaya carefully picked up the glowing stone. The moment she picked up the stone, the darkness in the forest seemed to be partially dispelled, and the surrounding light became brighter. The wolf-like creature also let out a painful wail, and then disappeared into the forest.

"We did it!" Yaya cheered.

Chen Xian also showed a gratified smile. "This is just the first step, but we have proved ourselves."

They returned to the village with the glowing stone. When the elders saw the stone they brought back, they all showed their approval. "You did a great job, warriors. This stone represents the power of light, and it will help you complete the next trial."

"Thank you for your trust." Chen Xian said, "We will continue to work hard."

"The next trial will be a test of wisdom," the elder said. "You will need to solve an ancient puzzle. This puzzle is hidden in a mysterious cave. Only when you solve it can you move forward."

Chen Xian nodded, his heart full of confidence. "We are ready."

So they said goodbye to the elder.
