World Cup Soccer Club of Greater Nashua Overview and History

Nashua World Cup Soccer was founded in 1982. The club provides youth soccer players with the opportunity to play competitive soccer at the highestlevel permitted by the United States Youth Soccer Association. This includes competing for league, state, regional and national championships in the applicable age groups. Our dedicated coaching staff will provide your child with quality coaching so that they learn how to play and enjoy the great sport of soccer. Our club is committed to developing youth soccer players. Younger player programs focus on maximizing player development transitioning to a competitive travel program for older boys and girls. We draw players from all over the greater Nashua area. Players from Massachusetts may also join Nashua World Cup if they obtain the required approval from both state soccer associations. We have a very professional soccer club that is well respected throughout the Eastern Regions of the United States. We expect that each player attend each of the two practices per week, and the game(s) on the weekends, unless you are excused by the coach. The club hosts an annual Columbus Day tournament each year, in addition each team participates in two additional tournaments.

Micro Soccer Program

World Cup is offering another session of its popular Micro Soccer Program this coming fall. The program is designed to introduce the young soccer player (U5-U6) and family to the great game of soccer. Our Micro Soccer program is run by licensed trainers that have years of experience playing the game, teaching the game and enjoying the game. The Micro Soccer Curriculum is designed by the Club’s training staff to encourage player development while maximizing FUN and LEARNING. The ultimate goal for a Micro trainer is to turn kids on to the great game of soccer and have them develop that same passion for the game that all World Cup trainers share.

Soccer Academy

World Cup will once again be offering the Soccer Academy Program for young soccer players (U7-U8), who are looking for the best soccer program to help them become better skilled players while developing a passion for the game. The Academy will also participate in the Early Development Program (EDP) which can provide a fun, flexible yet competitive environment with 4v4, 5v5 and 6v6 game formats where the Soccer Academy players get a chance to compete with players from other neighboring clubs.

Competitive Travel

Nashua World Cup has been providing youth soccer players the opportunity to play competitive soccer for over 20 years. By focusing on player development and recruiting experienced, certified coaches, World Cup consistently fields premier level teams. Nashua World Cup is the only NH club to have a team that has won the Region I Tournament of Champions.

End of Year Coaches Dinner
Posted by SuperUser Account on Wednesday, September 27, 2006
The board of directors offered all the coaching staff a dinner for their efforts during this past season.  At Silo's in Merrimack, the coaching staff, board members and a few guests were treated to a wide range of soccer topics for discussion.  Discussions of the current World Cup games overseas, the weather this past season and tournament results were overheard at all the tables.  All the NWC coaches were recognized for their achievements this past season.  Dan Wyborney, Director of Player Development, was pleased to announce that we would have 23 teams for the fall. This is up from 14 teams last fall.  NWC continues to draw top coaching talent and dedicated players to experience the difference of NWC.  We reviewed goals for next season and addressed needs of individual teams.  A great supportive effort for all involved.

The age of the club was discussed and a consensus was reached thru Coach Miguel Rodriquez who has been w/ NWC since the beginning that the club actually was started in 1980.  The group agreed that we are the oldest soccer club in NH.  The Columbus Day Tournament will be 24 years old this year.
